Anyone heard about the potential Bumbo recall??
We had a Bebepod chair instead, which does have a safety belt, but someone gave us their Bumbo and I always wondered by it didn't have a belt. Not that it mattered for us anyway, since RJ's thighs were so thick it was difficult to even lift him out of the chair!
We did use the Bebepod on raised surfaces (our couch) but I never left him unattended.... if I left his side, I placed him on the floor instead.

Isn't this user failure? It doesn't seem like there is anything wrong with the Bumbo. But if you put your kid in it on an elevated surface and they toppled over ... well, don't blame Bumbo!

@Andrea: haha yeah! But I guess product images show using it on an elevated surface, which is not cool.... and then the injuries reported are mostly from people using it correctly. Or so they say. Haha. Who knows....
I say put in a seat belt to quiet the dumbos!

I agree, total blame on parent. those types of seats need to be used with supervision.

@tina: it seems pretty hard to climb out of that thing with fat baby legs. hahaha.
i always see pictures on facebook of my friends' babies in bumbos on the kitchen counter. everyone knows you shouldn't do it...but people do it anyway.

@Andrea: haha seriously. The bottom is so wide, too, it must take a really skinny and really STRONG baby to tip it over and fall out!
If you put RJ in it and held it upside down he still wouldn't fall out. Haha.

I dont think the bumbo needs to be recalled. it shouldnt be placed on a table or elevated surface. the product isnt defective, its just being used wrongly

When LO was in the Bumbo and I tried to lift her out of it, the Bumbo stayed attached to her because her legs were so fat. Supervise your children, people! Don't blame Bumbo!

I am that person that has the really tall, strong, skinny baby that would fall out of the Bumbo, so I don't use it. It's just not for every baby and parents should be aware of that.

Ugh, I hate when they have to recall things because they have to draw special pictures for people who lack common sense. This reminds me of the infant monitor recall because of the people who didn't think there was anything wrong with the cords being in cribs.
