I know all parents get burned out from day to day stuff. We had an especially rough month last month and I've been feeling super drained and looking for ways to recharge my batteries.
What do you do when you're starting to feel burned out?

I would go do something on my own. Like shopping. Maybe treat myself to a pedicure or something. Or since I don't own a pool, I think swimming would relax me.

I do something fun by myself. I prefer social things, so dinner with friends is usually my go-to. But I also find I have to re-visit my goals as a (mostly) stay-at-home parent, because otherwise those few hours away feel like they go by too quickly and I feel trapped again. So for me, I like to do things like loosely planning our days and fine tuning our rhythm. I also like going to do something fun that we don't do super often, like a museum. Re-reading parts of books that have been helpful/important to me as a mom. Finding ways to engage more in my hobbies during the day with my daughter (like sewing a quilt with her for her babies). Maybe going to bed earlier for a week. Basically I try to find the parts of my day that feel the hardest, and figure out why. Usually for me its boredom or fatigue, so I address those things.

These last couple weeks have me super burnt out. I am looking forward to getting out with my little family and my mom for a hike this weekend. It always feels amazing to be out in the sun and nature. Nature centers me. If money wasn't so tight I would go get my hair done along with a pedicure but it's not in the cards right now.

@Silva: You hit the nail on the head of what I need to do. I've had a few days recently where I got to get away for a couple of hours, but it wasn't quite enough. Definitely need to do more evaluating.
