I know it isn't healthy but I love butter slathered on my toast.
Do you use butter, margarine or something else!?

I use margarine on toast just because it's easier to spread (I know, I know, spreadable butter) but butter in anything that calls for butter. And butter on my veggies and mashed potatoes. I think it's actually healthier than margarine -- everything in moderation.

We're back on butter in my house. I'm over all the processed fake crap and I truly believe a dab of real butter is better than chemicals.

Real butter all the way for me. None of that fake stuff with trans fat. And just because it says 0 grams trans fat doesn't mean it still isn't there.

Butter!! Although we've had unsalted butter in the house lately because I've been cooking for the baby and because I've been baking, and it is NOT the same.

We keep unsalted butter for baking and cooking sauteed peppers & onions. Besides that we don't use butter on anything else.

We use light spreadable butter on toast and we use butter in baking but other than that we use extra virgin olive oil to cook veggies or Pam for meat, eggs, etc. Oh unless a recipe specially calls for butter like garlic butter chicken then we just use the real thing.

I also love butter But i don't use it very often anymore. It's a treat. I do like it on my rice, though!

Earth Balance vegan butter. Very tasty substitute. I bought it originally for my vegan friend for Thanksgiving one year, and I have been hooked ever since. My LO loves it on toast.

If we use butter, it's going to be real butter. As fatty and 'unhealthy' as it is, I will always choose real natural butter over chemically margarine or spreads. Same goes for sugar vs splenda or equal or anything like that.

Butter! Especially grass-fed butter -- so rich!
@HeatherlovesKenny: Garlic butter chicken?? That sounds sooo good!!

I've been learning about lot about nutrition recently and have found that butter IS healthy. I'm not even joking!! It is one of the healthiest fats in it's purest form. We buy Kerrygold 100% grass fed cow butter and it is to. die. for. So rich and yummy.
I was even reading that healthy fats like butter, olive oil, avocados and coconut oil are huge if you're trying to lose weight. It sounds contradicting but it's true! There is a book out called "Eat Fat to Lose Fat" and it's all about how we were taught that fat is bed, but fat in a pure form (unaltered, unprocessed) is good.
It's an interesting new study on food- and I'll take it!! I love me some yummy butter.

^ Cocobee, there's a lot of research out there to show that to lose weight, you need to go low carb, NOT low fat! I'm with you--healthy fats are good for you I'm not going to eat a stick of butter, but I don't feel bad about putting it on my food, either!

Preach it, @Coco Bee! Foods with fat and cholesterol are good for you...it's the carbs, sugars, and industrial junk that should really be avoided.
I've also read that a diet with plenty of healthy fats encourages hydrated, flexible skin...meaning your diet can affect your likelihood of getting stretch marks during pregnancy. All the more reason to go fry up my lunch spinach in butter.

We only use regular butter. The cheapie Blue Bonnet brand. I looveee butter, buttered toast, buttered bagles, buttery rice (my fave.). My mom uses margirine, and I don't mind it.

I love butter. I wish we had more options available here (there's only 2 brands) but it works! My Mom buys Anchor butter, a New Zealand brand and it's yummy!

@blackbird: @Minnie_Girl: Yay people who don't think I'm crazy heh yeah I wouldn't eat a whole stick either but I no longer have guilt cooking with it and slathering it on my food!
@Minnie_girl: yup. I was reading how coconut oil helps stretch marks disappear! I haven't tried it yet because I'm testing another product but I will soon!

I loves me some butter, but since we've been on an MSPI diet for LO I've been using Earth Balance soy free. Given the opportunity, I will always choose real (butter) vs chemical (margarine).
