A friend of mine just turned me on to using cocoa butter NOW to prevent stretch marks. I just thought when you see them that's when you slather.
I'm 16 weeks and just started today. What about you?

I hate the smell of cocoa butter, so I never used it, but I did use Mama Mio cream or oil starting around then, and I did not get a single stretch mark either pregnancy. Who knows if that's what helped prevent them or if it's just luck, but if we ever had an oops and got pregnant again, I'd do the exact same thing again!

I don't really think it makes much of a difference in stretch marks- but it does make your belly less itchy and it can't hurt!
I've been liking cetaphil lotion this time- I can't really handle anything scented right now.

I used cocoa butter in the morning and an oil at night. I didn't get any stretch marks but think it's more because of genetics. Either way my belly never itched.

Nothing really helped me, but I'm very prone to them. now that it's been a couple of years, you can barely see them.

I've been using it for the past 8 weeks or so, but I don't think it's helping!

I used palmers cocoa butter from the beginning of my pregnancy and bio oil as well near the end. No stretch marks. My genetics tend towards getting stretch marks so I think it helped.

I used it for my first and no stretch marks. My second I used Bio Oil and no stretch marks, it is probably genetics but it can't hurt as the skin stretches to keep it well hydrated!!!!

I'm not a huge fan of cocoa butter, but I did use Shea butter and/or burts bees mama belly butter daily from about 10 weeks on. My primary reason was to help soothe insane itching and tightness, but I didn't get any stretch marks.

I put lotion all over starting early on. I really didn't think it would prevent stretch marks, I was really itchy. I do think whether you get any have to do with genetics rather than creams. I didn't get any on my stomach, but I did get them in a couple other places.

I don't think any products make a difference. I got stretch marks with my first during the last few weeks. With my second, I got zero stretch marks. Both girls were about the same size.

@Peasinapod: that's the one she recommended and I bought. I love the creaminess of it.

I used cocoa butter, it was more for the ritual than anything else, to be honest.
I finally got stretch marks in my 38th week, mostly on the sides. Now, my son is almost 5 and you can't really see them at all.

I don't think creams/lotions make a difference with stretch marks, but they do help with tummy itching. I used them religiously with my first and got stretch marks at 39 weeks. My mom has a million, so I figured they'd be coming for me but it was worth a shot!

I used palmers as well. My mother got a ton of stretch marks and I have gotten them when I went through puberty (so I know I can get them). I didn't get any during pregnancy using palmers. It's hard for me to believe that it didn't help at all.

I used cocoa butter on my legs growing up (thanks crazy dry skin), and then everyday on the body from early on in pregnancy. I also liked the ritual before bed. I also used pure argan oil as my skin would go insanely dry and itchy and it really worked to moisturise. I didn't get any stretchies, which I'm super grateful for. They definitely run in the family!

I used it and got tons.
I think I might have escaped them if I had had smaller babies. Oh well. My girls are worth it.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: just wanted to say congrats!
I got terrible stretch marks right at the end of pregnancy so I can't help there! But lotion-ing up will at least feel good!

Nothing works, sorry, it is mainly genetic!
I got amazing ones and had a 6 pound baby and only gained 15 pounds!

I used it when the stretching skin got itchy, but no product kept away the stretch marks in my case

I just used whatever lotion was around - jergens, bath and body works... I applied after my showers and sometimes before bed and I never got a single stretch mark. I think it's either gonna happen or not!

I started using it my first trimester. It helps with the itching, but I still got stretch marks.
