We switched back to FIOS (our house was already wired for it) from Comcast -- and for Internet, Digital cable (NO DVR), and land line we pay $95 including taxes.

We generally switch every couple of years between comcast & fios to get the best deal. It's a pain, but it's worth it when they have multi-year promotional deals!

oh - we have 2 cable boxes too --- cutting out DVR definitely helped cut cost.

We pay 133 per month for dvr, hd, high speed, hbo and cinemax blah blah blah. I feel liek it is too much, I would love to get it under $100 but I am not giving up cable.

We used to pay $185 for cable and internet (HBO, 2 DVR boxes), and when we moved we switched companies so we're on a special reduced fee for a year that's like $150/month for cable and internet (1 DVR box, HD, HBO but not the other premium channels).

Too much. I think our last bill was $116 for basic internet and the second tier cable package. The only reason we went with the second tier is because one channel we like wasn't available on basic. I'm going to try to convince my husband to switch to basic cable.

We ditched cable when we moved but we were paying $64/month for digital cable with one DVR (no premium channels.) That was JUST cable, no internet included in the cost.

Now we are just paying for wireless internet, medium tier (a step above basic but not the super fast package) and is $45 per month for that. To get basic cable (25 channels, I think) they quoted us $12.99 per month on top of the $45 we're paying for internet. We declined. Without cable we get the major networks (CBS, ABC, NBC, etc) and somehow we get TBS and TV Land too.

We had Time Warner for cable, btw.

The first year our cable/internet was $39/month. The second year it went up to about $65/month. This includes all local and basic cable channels. Except they either messed up or basic cable has WAY more channels than I thought because we have like 150+ channels. We don't have a dvr or anything. We have comcast. The only other option in our area is uverse, whose most basic package was at least 3x as expensive.

We've never had cable - we watch anything we want online.

@photojane: sort of? It's mainly tv shows and a lot of what we watch is on there like white collar. Project runway, once upon a time, etc. Most of them are delayed though from when it actually airs, so you have to be careful of spoilers. But overall, I like it and it is worth the $10/month. We actually had netflix and cancelled it because we watched all the stuff on there that we cared about seeing and there wasn't enough new stuff for us to keep with it.
