Has anyone made or bought a calendar appropriate for a preschooler? DS is 3 and he has gotten a lot more interested in what day of the week it is, what day does he go to school, what day is dad home, etc. I am just looking for something simple so he can check on our activities and isn't as devastated next Wednesday when I tell him that not only is dad at work but it's also not a school day.

Do you have a teaching supply store near you? I would look there. You'd find a large selection of calendars about 12"x18". Get one with a white background, laminate it (most supply stores will have a laminator), and then fill in your schedule with a dry erase marker. You and DS can set it up together at the beginning of each month, review/update it together each week, and DS can cross off each day with a dry erase marker to keep track of what's coming up.

The dollar store and target dollar spot have a bunch of calendars and days of the week stuff right now for back to school

I made a weekly calendar for my preschooler. It has the seven days in long (two page) columns and then I had a friend draw pictures for our usual activities. Some of them I printed right into the week. We set it up at the beginning of the week so he knows what is happening that week.
We also have a regular calendar for him but that's harder for him to understand. It's all laminated and on magnets so we can move it around easily. -
Here's a picture. It took a little time to put together and I've realized that I forgot some activities the first time my friend made pictures for me. There are versions of this on Etsy but none of them had the kinds of activities I wanted for our calendar.

I made this one for my daughter and it works really well for us. It was a little tedious, but not too hard to make because I downloaded all the templates from a blog for free. That blank space in the bottom left corner had bunnies with magnetic clothes so you could dress them for the weather but they’re almost never on there because my daughter likes to play with them.
