The maxi skirt or dress is in this season and I'm wondering if anyone can pull it off....Or, if it's one of those things that only looks good on slender bodies. They looks so comfy and flowy but not sure it's do-able for me.
Thoughts?

I think they are really easy to pull off. I love them, try it!

Honesty? I don't like them normally I think you have to be super skinny and tall to wear them well. I love wearing the cotton one I have during my pregnancy but doubt I'll wear it not pregnant. I just don't think it would look good on me normally.

People usually think I'm pregnant if I try to pull of the look....
....I'm not pregnant, though.
Maybe it's because I'm short and not super slender?

I just bought 3 maxi dresses and 2 maxi skirts in the last month. I wouldn't normally wear them as often outside of pregnancy, but they are def comfy and it helps that I'm around 5'8".... but I've seen shorter friends wear them, and wear them better than me!
I think it's all about personal pref and if YOU feel good in it, then you look good in it!

I'm really tall and every maxi dress i've ever tried on is too short and looks silly on me. I think you have to be a really certain height or able to wear high heels to get the length right. Otherwise they seem like exactly what I would want to wear this summer post baby!

Just got a maxi skirt in the mail....I love it and I have a booty!

I definitely cannot pull them off (I've tried), as I'm only 5'. I ended up giving mine (that was gifted to me) to my 5'7" tall sister.

I love maxi skirts! I am barely 5"4...I wore a cute striped one to work yesterday with a solid colored top and had so many people tell me how cute it was. Of course I wore espadrilles with it so I ended up being about 5"7...love the maxi skirt!

Oh man. I live off maxi dresses now that I"m pregnant and it's hot! I haven't seen anyone wear one that looks bad in it. Honestly. They're so comfy!

@chopsuey119: You crazy yuj, there is no way I can pull it off. I'm too short and chubby! I've seen shirts tucked into them and I can't do that...:S
GOLD / wonderful olive / 19030 posts
@Rubies: you don't have wear it with a tucked in shirt....just a more fitted one!

@chopsuey119: A dress is even worse!
@jessiejo17: I wish I could jump into the screen and pop into your house to show you why I can't wear a fitted anything! My post-baby belly is so squishy! LOL!
Onto the next fashion trend! LOL!

I bought a maxi dress today, and it is too long if I'm wearing flats.

I haven't seen anyone pull off the maxi skirt, but I haven't honestly seen that many people wearing them at all (or maybe I just don't notice!) I did just buy 2 maxi dresses though. I figure, they make people look pregnant, I am pregnant, should be a good fit!!

I haven't been able to find the right size for me. I'm tall but small busted so an xs or s that fits in the bust is too short, anything I find that's long enough is awful up top. Plus, I feel like it's a lot of material and maybe too much of one dress/skirt to look good on me

I love them!! I wear both, dresses and skirts. Since I still have baby weight I'm technically considered overweight but I like them because they fit this new body. They hide a lot

Sigh.... I unfortunately cannot pull them off. I think they look great on lots of different body types, but I have NO booty, and it's just not a good look. I look like a 12 year old boy in drag.

It depends on the shape (near the bust) the length (if you can wear with a heel) and the fabric.
I can pull them off 50% of the time, even though my husband hates them! ha

i loooooove them and can't get enough. i'm sure they would look better on someone taller and skinnier, but they're just so easy and can be dressed up and dressed down.

I love maxi dresses! I love the flowiness and since I'm average height (5'6") they're usually a good length for me. I do not own any maxi skirts... I can never figure out how to pair tops with them. I'm busty too so it's tough to figure out what looks good.

If you're confident, and comfortable, you can pull it off. period. I am 5'2 and 14 weeks.. maxi skirts are my go-to!
pomegranate / 3414 posts
I am not a dress girl and due to my normal pre-pregnancy size have avoided maxi dresses for fear that people would think I'm pregnant. I did buy one this pregnancy (going to a daytime wedding at the end of June) and it looks OK on my but probably won't wear it beyond pregnancy.

I wear maxi dresses and skirts all the time! I love them and I don't think you need to be tall or super skinny to pull them off. I am a solid 5'2" with no bum and a larger chest and I think I rock the maxis!

I like maxi dresses but I don't think I could pull off the skirt. I'm very petite (5 feet tall) and I think it will make me look even shorter.
wonderful olive / 19353 posts
I'm short (5'2") and they're always too long for me so it looks odd.
