Formal and/or informal. We just moved into our new home and I'm looking for inspo and would love to see your homes! I've always just had DH's stuff from before we got married so I'm excited to start from scratch instead of working around what's already there

@ms.jellen: I can take a pic in the morning when it's not so dark! We actually took the wall between the dining room and kitchen down to make it more open!

@Bao: haaha we just went from staying with my parents for six months to finally closing on our house... I find every dining room that's your own as interesting hahah. I feel your though, my dining room and breakfast nook are pretty borin right now!

@ms.jellen: here it is, I wish it were more open and we had art on the wall or something. It opens up on two sides though, into the kitchen and then into the living room. Sorry for the poor quality it was hard with that light.

@Bao: thank you! It looks good! I love the bar height table. I don't even have a chandelier hhaha. I have A light for the breakfast room and NOTHING for formal dining... So it's like really dark unless the kitchen lights are on Haaha I'll post what I have... Maybe some creative bees can give some suggestions! First picture is breakfast room,, that big window is going to have pictures in the panes and I have a pirough shelf for now. Three other photos is the formal dining area... I know we'll have to do something lighting hahahah and then something for that super bare back wall

We still need to re-upholster the chairs in a simple cream. We also plan to update the light to something blingy-er. And not pictures is a tall wine rack in the corner (there are two in the room - the PB modular ones). We decorated around the big picture on the wall....

With all those amazing details it looks really good with nothing on the walls but that dark grey color! Amazing!@Mrs D: beautiful dining room! And I really love your chandelier! I am more of a rustic type though.. I can see how with your dining set you may want to go with a blingy-er one. Do you have one picked out yet?

I'm still finishing our formal dining (we're new homeowners too), but this is our more casual breakfast area. There's a vintage map from our honeymoon framed on the wall. The walls are BM Covington Blue. Pottery Barn light fixture, Ikea chairs, OXO high chair and booster, custom farm table from a family member.
ETA: ha, I just noticed DD's toy lizard photo bombing

This is our small breakfast nook. The sunlight is really strong there so I turn overy the top cook book in the middle circular tray to protect it a bit from fading. I wish I could have found lemon art, but I'm happy with the other citrus art. If we ever move the chandelier is coming; it's one of my favorite decor pieces I picked out.
With all those amazing details it looks really good with nothing on the walls but that dark grey color! Amazing!
