Its an apricot color (pinkish)
Is it too close to white? I was thinking about pairing it with a gray cardi and a light brown braided dress

I don't think the "no white" rule applies to showers?
I think paired with what you described it'd be totally fine. I might still not wear it to a wedding, but seems perfectly appropriate for a shower.

I would! I don't think white/ivory matters for a shower.

I say yes. I didn't even wear white to my shower, so it definitely wouldn't have mattered to me! Pretty dress!
ETA: I do have friends who wear white to every pre-wedding event but I feel like that's a relatively new thing. Anyway, I'm not sure the bride gets a monopoly on all white-ish things for the whole time leading up to the wedding

@pui: @Smurfette: @MrsSCB: I'm glad you ladies are saying yes because there is a matching dress I want to put DD in... do you think that is appropriate?

I would say only wear it if you intend to keep the cardigan on the whole time because the color combined with the lace does make the dress look very bridal to me.

@MamaMoose: I do intend to keep the cardi on. I'm going to keep it open though

@bunnylove08: I think that's totally fine then. And I love the matching dress for your LO!

I didnt know the white rule extended to bridal showers. I would think it would be pretty clear who the bride is! It looks fine to me

@hotchildinthecity: I'm not sure what the etiquette is and I would like to avoid pissing off the bride (we're not on very good terms, I have to go because she is my FSIL)

I don't think it's as offensive as you might think because it's more of a peachy color. And while there is that romantic bridal feeling to it, it's CLEARLY not a bridal dress. And the cardigan and belt gives it a more relaxed feel.
The mini-me version is adorable!

@bunnylove08: no LO doesn't need a cardigan! No one will think she's the bride

Hmm well I was totally on board with the dress and think it is so gorgeous -- except if you and FSIL already have issues, is she going to hype the situation up and making it a big deal if its remotely close to white? (i.e is she a drama queen to begin with?)

@psw27: I'm not sure. She tends to like to make things about her. I'm afraid that she will talk behind my back. My MIL told me to get over the lace and white and wear the dress lol. Maybe I'm reading too much into it

Yes if you wear a cardigan. And can you please send me a link to it and the baby version? lol
