I have to separate them (they were not divorced, but they played different roles).
Mom: Paranoid, Supportive, Hippy
Dad: Hands-off, Disciplinarian, Uninvolved
This paints a horrible picture of my dad as a parent. Basically, he really left the child-rearing up to my mom except when disciplinary matters came into play. Now that I'm an adult though, I have a very close relationship with him. -

Loving, traditional, supportive but suffered no 'foolishness'.

Involved, loving, fun. My dad was a little less involved but he really tried. My mom....I can't even talk about her without bringing tears to my eyes. She's the best.
