I have 5ish black pencil skirts collecting dust right now. I really want to wear one but can I dress it down?

@travelingnanny: have you looked on the jcrew website? They have a lot of different combos that you wouldn't normally would think would work but do. I've banned myself from going on that website, but maybe that might give you some ideas?

You can also pair a cute light summer scarf with a lightweight tank as well for a more casual look.

I would say a tank top, like wife beater top, with layering necklaces, and flat sandals.

A lightweight tank or tee would look really great! And embellished flats, long more casual bauble-y necklace, maybe hair up in a messy bun?
