I don't think so! We go to the library a lot but I still like buying books that I can't find there!

Nope!
Same for us, we love the library and like buying our own books too!

I don't think you can "have" too many books, but I dislike having a bunch of things I will likely never use again in my house, so I only buy hard copies of my favourite books.

Never! My future LOs already have a bunch of books.

yes, i think it is possible to have too many books. there are some that never get read, and the chances of LO rediscovering and actually enjoying them are pretty low. i think periodically culling is a good idea, because otherwise we're going to end up with a mountain of books that maybe will make us feel like "oh look how many books we have!" but in reality most of them will not be used.

@edelweiss: Yeah, there are some books LO 1 doesn't show any interest like Llama, Llama, Frances and Olivia but I am keeping them for now because I hope the other LOs might like them in the future!

No! But I'm a total sucker for books. I'm always in my library's shop getting books I can't find anywhere else (and they're all $1!) My husband thinks I have a problem, but I love building a little library for M

I say no, DH says yes. A lot of L's favorites are getting pretty beat up, so I'm not worried about having "too many" with another on the way.

I love buying books, but I've slowed down since it's expensive to buy English language books here, unless I order them. I miss just browsing in a bookstore.

Well, yes, if you aren't going to read them. I don't read fantasy as a genre, so it would be pointless for me to buy them.

For me, yes. I'm so glad now all my books are on Kindle/ipad.
For LO - no. I love building her book collection! As she outgrows some, I'll store them away for the next kid, but for right now, I don't think we can have too many! I get sick of reading some of them the same week over and over, so I like to rotate!:silly:

In our small apartment, yes! We actually got rid of boxes and boxes of our own books, but now we have more room for books for her. I buy her new books all the time!

It depends. DH and I have stopped buying books for ourselves because we just haven't been finding the time to read them. I used to buy a lot of books for LO but lately our weekly trips to the library have been great.

You can never have too many! I buy my girls used books all the time. I do donate my books if they aren't an all time favorite though.

Nope! We have soooo many books, both for DH and I and for LO. I agree with not keeping ones that don't get used, but we do love buying books Moving with them is a capital PITA, but it is a price we are willing to pay!
