Apparently, genetically some people can smell the odor Asparagus gives your pee and some of us can't. I can't and DH can! I wonder if baby skillet will be able to?

I've never smelled anything after eating asparagus. I'm not sure about my husband because he refuses to eat it.

Ist it so strange what genetics and determine! Apparently, it's the same with cilantro. Some people taste it like soap (me) and others taste it as delicious.
Or eyebrows! I can only quirk one. DH is a both side eyebrow quirking weirdo!

the gene isnt to smell the asparagus pee - the gene makes your pee actually smell! =o) lol, so gross. DH and I both have the gene so our pee stinks. Liv does not. She LOVES her some aspargus, but no smelly pee lol

I don't have a sense of smell. Sometimes, like this, I think it's a good thing.

I definitely smell it, and I find it gag-worthy enough that I refuse to eat asparagus. DH doesn't smell it at all.

I can but not all the time. And depends on how much is consumed.
I've given my son asparagus but i haven't smelled it on him yet.

@Aliveoo01: Coffee pee smells really strong to me, too! And yes, definitely asparagus. I make these asparagus rolls for a party every year - our friends call them "pee stinkers!"

I always thought it's that some of us have an enzyme which makes the pee smell and some don't have the enzyme. Either way, weird!

I can smell it. I don't know about DH, but now I'm going to ask.
I've given my son asparagus but i haven't smelled it on him yet.
