It's probably a matter of not retaining its shape if it's wrung or hung while wet. Does it have a lining? Or maybe decorations? Those both impact whether it can be washed.

Do you iron? If you don't, I wouldn't wash it.

@Mamaof2: haha, it depends if you want to break it out...I think if you wash it, it's going to be very wrinkled. To iron it, you need a hot iron with a pressing cloth. The synthetic setting is useless.

@Mamaof2: I wash polyester. Just this past week i had a dress that I put in the washing machine. I hung it to dry and then I pressed it.

I do all the time.

@Mamaof2: I have a similar shirt, different brand, and I wash it in a laundry bag. I hang dry and it doesn't wrinkle, ever. Only reason I wash in a laundry bag is that a similar shirt I had developed a hole in the seam from washing.

I also have this shirt in a couple of colors and it drives me NUTS that it's dry clean only. I hate that it's been to the cleaners, like, 4 times because i like to wear it. If this washes well, it would change my life. Please post on whether or not it works. I'm too afraid to try it because if it fails, I'll be out of my fave shirt. Good luck!

I wash and hang dry similar silky (but not silk) shirts all the time. Like others, I use a laundry bag, primarily so it doesn't snag.
