We have 4 bedrooms so we definitely have enough room for a third LO...but I would lose my precious office/junk room.

Hmm, we only have 2.5 bedrooms but we figure in NYC that should house 2 kiddos fine.
wonderful pear / 26210 posts
Yeah, we have 4 bedrooms, so if worse comes to worse, we could give up the master and have the kids bunk together.
We really need at least 1 room to function as a guest room.
papaya / 10560 posts
NO. We have a 2/2 1900 sq foot...with LO2 on the way, the baby will be in the master with us because its really big. When older, the kids will share a room, but I can't imagine one more. We'd need to finish off the attic upstairs.
wonderful cherry / 21504 posts
Nope. We have a two bed with not much room to spare. But we are renting so that was intentional. It works great for our family of three.
GOLD / wonderful coffee bean / 18478 posts
We have 5 bedrooms so we would lose either the office or guest bedroom.
bananas / 9628 posts
We have a two bedroom apt now and no LOs, so the office/junk rm would be a LO rm if we got pg before moving.
pear / 1823 posts
Yes. We have 4 bedrooms so we would convert either the guest bedroom or the office...
pomegranate / 3729 posts
No freaking way. We are in a very small 2br/1ba apartment. We could only have another baby for a really short time here (basically while newborn is still in our room).
coconut / 8305 posts
Not really... we're having one anyways! lol
900 sq 2 bedroom (well really 3 but that's a storage/office/school/laundryroom) house!
We'll be really cozy until our house gets renovated! lol
bananas / 9628 posts
@runsyellowlites: DH's aunt & her husband had 4 kids and half the yr her in laws living with them in a 900sq ft house with 1 bathroom... Blew my mind & seriously made me reframe my ideas about personal space! I still hope for a speedy renovation for you guys!
nectarine / 2797 posts
Yup, we have 2300 sqft and 4 bedrooms, so we could definitely house another LO or two with no problem!
coconut / 8305 posts
@mrs. bird: Before getting married to DH I lived with my mom & our home was "the" home so there were times there were 4-6 women plus 2-4 kids living in a decent size but 1 bathroom house.... I guess I've gotten used to it! Lol
We're looking at atleast a year for our new place... It'll be 4 bedroom 2 bath!
persimmon / 1230 posts
No way! We have 2 average sized bedrooms and a 3rd room that's called a "bedroom" but has no door and is essentially a closet. I don't think two beds could fit in LO's room.
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts
Yes. We have our room and LO's room plus a completely empty room. We also have a playroom so that could be changed to a room if needed. DH also has two man rooms in the basement so we would still have plenty of space.
watermelon / 14467 posts
Yes. They would probably share so we could keep our office/guest room.
honeydew / 7811 posts
Heck no! 2 bedroom apartment that just feels like one big room most of the time! Would love to be out of here before LO is mobile! Add two big kids (stepkids) in the summer and we are WAY cramped!!!
pear / 1769 posts
We could make it work for now and we already plan to move next summer into a larger home since we are moving states.
grapefruit / 4671 posts
@mrs. bird: that would drive me nuts. I wouldn't feel like DH and I had any privacy. I doubt I could DTD under those circumstances.
grapefruit / 4066 posts
Nope, only have a 2 bedroom apt now which is why we are looking for a house!
nectarine / 2085 posts
2br/2ba apt here. 1100 sq ft. I think we could swing a second LO with little trouble. Our main issue is storage, although a tad more space and an outdoor area would be primo.
bananas / 9628 posts
@plantains: yea, I always wondered where & when they found space to make more LOs! I'm thinking shower sex... Haha.
grapefruit / 4671 posts
@mrs. bird: shower sex, so great in my 20s but now, who can be bothered?!!!!
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21616 posts
We have a 900sq ft 2 bed 1 bath apt but the layout is nice. We could fit another child. I'd likely have the baby in our room for maybe 6 months and then they'd have to share with J.
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21616 posts
@mrs. bird: I grew up in a family of 8. Our house was less than 2,000 sq ft and we all shared a bathroom! It was tight- and we all shared bedrooms but it worked for us!
bananas / 9628 posts
@Mrs. Pen: 2,000sq ft is a decent sized house! one bathroom would be hard though i imagine! i had my own bathroom as a teenager, guess i'm spoiled & have a hard time sharing. i'm more in awe of DH's aunt because when 4 of the 8 in the 900sq ft are adults, there are... needs... to be met and privacy needed for such activities. also i can't imagine having other adults in our space all the time for DH & i to have a healthy relationship- even private conversations would be a challenge! i bet being tight on space made you guys really close as kids though
honeydew / 7488 posts
@autumnlove: or you could have two kids share!
We have a 5 br and could accommodate more kids but are actually thinking of making DD and DS share even though we have plenty of rooms. Since its a master down and bedrooms up configuration and DD gets scared we are thinking to have them share the trundle bed for a year.
coconut / 8861 posts
Nope, we have a 2 bedroom condo. We could last a few months with another LO, then would need to move.
hostess / wonderful honeydew / 32460 posts
Make the girls share a room!!
We could have another, but it'd be cramped. Our new house will have plenty of space, but we're done!
clementine / 830 posts
We have 4 bedrooms but its configured weird, 2 upstairs and 2 downstairs, so I don't actually know where to put the new baby!
nectarine / 2063 posts
If we had to we could but I'd rather not! 2 is going to be more than enough. We wanted out of here before we had our second child. Now we want out before they are 3. Preferably before they are walking.
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21616 posts
@mrs. bird: oh yes it definitely was enough space for us once my dad finished the basement and added the extra two bedrooms (otherwise it was half the amount of space). I just find that in general people think its a small space, and too many kids! But it worked for us. And most of us did grow up close
coconut / 8475 posts
It can accomodate like 5 more kids:) BUT...i'd lose my office/dh's home office. I think in the future, we will just add a room because we have a large room that can be split to two.
