MIL- She won't follow my guidelines about feeding or sleep but I'm sure the kids would be fine.
FIL- not a chance...he isn't good with kids. I don't think he knows LO 2's name! 
My parents- maybe one LO but not both!

My mom can. But my ILs? No way! They can barely handle my toddler for more than a few hours. If we ever want to take a trip without the kids we would drive to NYC to leave the kids with my mom.

Dhs mom or dad: most definitely. They are wonderful!
My dad: not a chance. He doesn't go out if his way to interact with her. He loves her but he has some health issues.
Step mom: she would be okay, but it would be too hard to plan because she has too much going on

IL's I wouldn't let them watch her for a weekend, let alone a weekend.

My parents, definitely. They probably wouldn't follow all my rules, but I know my mom is super conscientious about Xander's allergies, so I know I could trust her completely.
The in-laws... not so much. I mean, they probably could, but I wouldn't trust them to be as careful!

My parents would happily take them for a week. They had DS for 5 days when he was 8 months old last February and did just great.
My in laws have only watched DS twice, for a few hours only, and I wouldn't feel comfortable leaving the kids with them for longer than that for a plethora of reasons.

MIL-well she works, so no! But she could manage just fine. I'm sure E would go to bed super late and not eat awesome, but that's ok

My inlaws would do a better job than me and DH!! My mum = no way. She refuses to be alone with E at all so I can't imagine that going down well!!

Not at this point. I have 5 month old twins and the last couple times we left them with my ILS to have dinner it was sort of disastrous. Alice wouldn't take bottles (we've supplemented from the very beginning so she takes bottles all day long usually!) and screamed the whole time. And she pooped and with all the screaming they didn't think to check her diaper? So right now, no we couldn't leave them with my parents or ILs. Hopefully someday!

We actually did have an all expenses trip to Las Vegas when LO had just turned 1! We left him for 5 days at my in-laws house, with my mom also pitching in and taking him for chunks of the day a few times. They all are awesome and he had a great time (except for bedtime).

DH's parents would probably be able to, though they wouldn't do what I do with/for LO and they'd freak out over everything. Pacifier fell on the floor? Need to throw it away! LO sneezed? Rush him to the doctor!

My mom: maybe? She's good with him but a week is a long time and she's pretty anti-social and likes alone time. I think she might get too stressed out.
I wouldn't leave E with my dad and stepmom for any amount of time.

Before we had our second I would say definitely! Now that there's two, it's a struggle for even one of us (Mommy or Daddy) to handle both for a single day solo. So we will wait until they're both older before leaving both of them with any grandparent(s).

I wish! My mom is great with the older two now that they are 6.5 and 3, but it would be too much with the baby. Can't wait til he's a bit older... at least 2 yo.

Mine-- Yes. They'd probably do outings and stick to our routine as best as possible.
IL-- Ehhh, if they HAD to in an emergency, yes. I'm sure it would involve a lot of bribing, screen time, treats.. >_<

My parents definitely could if LO weren't still nursing/co-sleeping with me. They are great about watching him whenever I need a break or some help.
My MIL still works and wouldn't have anyone else to help her, but theoretically she would be capable of taking care of him.

My parents watch LO at least once a week and she/they love it. They have been caring for her since birth.
My IL's = no. Just no. LO is paranoid because they are pretty much strangers to her.

MIL - yes, she has watched him for 4 nights for a mini vaca. She is more liberal with food/tv etc than I am, but whatevs, she's watching him!
FIL/SMIL- yes, because SMIL is good with him. They are busy with work though
my mom- nope, she is sick. Has MS and can't take carry him.. I'm even nervous if I run a 30 minute errand and LO is napping at home with her.
my dad- he wouldn't know what to do.
So my MIL is really our best option. Unfortunately, she lives on the other side of the country.

I think my mom could definitely handle LO for a week, and my inlaws together (MIL and FIL) could also handle LO for a week, no problems. I just say as a team because MIL has bad knees so she will probably have trouble keeping up with LO physically now that she's older, but MIL is great about feeding, getting her to sleep, etc.
And they would all *love* to do it, too.

Yes they could all do it which is really nice to know. I think my mom would get tired but my in laws seem to think the little guy is never any trouble and always perfectly pleasant. They watch him 3 days a week so I think they must just be blinded because they're so happy to finally have a grandchild! We'll probably stick to 1-2 night trips but I want a real vacation for just us for our anniversary in a year and a half.

Both could if I asked, but I wouldn't. It's a lot of work and both sets are old. I would split it between the two grandparents until she was older and more independent.

My folks -- already planning trips with LO and I'm only 23 weeks pregnant
FIL -- he'd delight in breaking all the rules we set but I'm sure the kids would be fine
MIL -- she would love to watch future LO but with early dementia, we can't trust her with our cats, much less any kids.

In laws: they would be okay maybe but MIL would have trouble reading her sleep cues plus I think she wouldn't know what to do at nap time as LO usually whines a bit before she falls asleep. Plus being with LO would absolutely exhaust her. I wouldn't be comfortable leaving her with them really, but she would survive.
My parents: I definitely would leave her with them! They would totally stick to a similar routine, they would go out & she would get as many kisses & snuggles as she gets at home. She would be happy there & they would be happy to have her. But I'm sure they'd be pretty tired at the end of the week too lol

My mum - she would handle it no problem, the eating wouldn't be healthy but she would handle a week.
My in laws - they would handle it but (and I've seen it first hand with my nephew) they wouldn't follow food rules or bedtime or anything in lo's routine and they would let her call the shots for the entire stay. I haven't trusted them to babysit lo for even a few hours yet.

My dad: NO Way!!!
Fil: Probably, not because I don't trust him but because he doesn't spend much time with my boys now. He lives 3 hours away. I am sure he would love it tho.
