My husband has vacation in March and I was eyeing a trip to Canada. Our LO will be 15 months old at that time. We can fly and stay in either Montreal, Quebec, or Toronto for about 5 days. Which do you suggest with a toddler? I've never visited Canada before so any suggestions appreciated!

The weather is likely to be better in Toronto in March. But if you're up for snow you can't go wrong with Quebec.

Montreal is a thousand times nicer, prettier, more interesting for a visit than Toronto in my opinion! I agree the weather might be better in Toronto, but it can still be really, really bad. Montreal has a great European feel to it!

Toronto, although a bit warmer, is really just like a big American city. Sure, there are some unique landmarks, but both Montreal and Quebec are much nicer.
Montreal's Old Port is very nice for adults and toddlers (I think there is a kid's museum on the pier), whereas Quebec has a lot of cool stuff to see too. Not sure what there is for kids around then. The Winter Carnival will be over then. When in March will you be traveling?

Quebec City is absolutely beautiful. Agreed with the above posters that it could potentially still wintery but I think it would be fun regardless. Old Quebec is just so pretty!
That said, there may be more to do with a toddler in either Montreal or Toronto.

Not Canadian, but we went to Montreal with DS for his second birthday (and we've been to Toronto and Quebec City pre-DS). We had an amazing time in Montreal with DS - they have fantastic playgrounds, it's a beautiful city that's easy to walk and get around on the metro, and the food is incredible. Highly recommended!

I live in toronto but grew up in Montreal so I may be biased but I will ALWAYS pick Montreal over Toronto :). I agree with all the PPs though so maybe I'm not that biased after all.
Some things to do with kids is to visit the Biodome

Seems like Montreal wins :). Thanks for the input! I love the photos of old Quebec, but thinking that is a later romantic trip I want to go on with DH.

I went to all three cities on my honeymoon. Had a ball in all of them, but LOVED Montreal. Quebec was lovely too, but I didn't realise how steep and hilly it is, which might be hard with a little one.
