Based on stroller compatibility, we have narrowed down the car seat choices to the Chicco Keyfit and the Graco 35. Any advice on choosing one over the other? They seems pretty comparable to me (price is not a factor). Thanks!

We went with the Chicco Keyfit because it was compatible with out stroller {Bumbleride Indie}.

I had the Graco 35 and loved it. Easy to install, snap in and out of the base, and to adjust. G outgrew it height-wise at 8 months, so we recently switched to a convertible, but no complaints here!

I had the chicco and really liked it, easy to carry, install and buckle. It was rated high on consumer reports.

We have the Graco and like it just fine, but if I was doing it over I'd get the Chicco, because I like that stroller soooooo much better.

We LOVED the Chicco Keyfit carseat but HATED the matching stroller. It was heavy/ bulky, didn't handle that well, the seat is pretty narrow so the baby (normal in size) outgrew it pretty fast, and if the seat was reclined you couldn't get things in/out of the basket. We donated it and got another stroller.

Thanks for the response ladies! I actually have the Chicco Keyfit on the registry but for some reason am now second-guessing myself (maybe the weight limit?)... Sounds like you've been happy with the Chicco though so I'll probably just keep that.

@NorCalWayfarer: According to the new Consumer Reports testing, the Chicco outperformed the Graco seat and when considering other factors besides safety, the Keyfit was their #1 overall choice.

@kiddosc: Great to know! Thanks! This definitely helps reassure me of my choice

@NorCalWayfarer: are you talking about the Keyfit 30 having a five-pound lower weight limit? If so, don't worry. It's very, very rare for babies to get anywhere near that. They outgrow seats by height first the vast majority of the time.

We have the chicco keyfit 30- DS is 1 and we are still using it. I already have the convertible car seats to switch into- but its nice to be able to carry him sleeping in and out of places! We love out keyfit!!

@NorCalWayfarer: With regards to weight limit, do you really want to lug around 35 lbs of baby plus the 15 or so lbs of carseat? LO is only 17 lbs now and she is so heavy in the carseat. I know that having her grow out of her 22 lb limit carseat will be no issue for me.

We got the Graco 35 click connect and the matching jogging stroller. At the last minute i registered for the snap n go wheels and we received both at our shower. for the most part we only used the wheels the last 7 months and actually returned the jogging stroller for a smaller more managable stroller.

We have the chicco keyfit and liked it a lot. DS outgrew it by length long before he even got close to the weight limit. In fact, he is 2 years old and only 28 lbs (50 percentile in weight).

We have the Graco 35 (no LO yet though) but I like it. Seems super light and it was very easy to install. I have nothing to compare to though

We used the Graco 35, super light, and lasted until DS was 8 months.
We're going to switch to the Chicco Keyfit for future LO tho, since I'm selling the carseat, bases, and literider stroller as a set. We got an umbrella stroller and I don't want the literider piled up in our garage.

I love my Graco 35. However, the Chicco doesn't fit in my car (actually, none of the Chicco seats will fit in my car rear facing).

@NorCalWayfarer: Like others have said, weight limit isn't a big deal. My LO is just outgrowing her seat for height, but is nowhere near the weight limit!

LOVE our Keyfit. Splurging for the Magic version (extra $10 ) is well worth it IMO. Bigger canopy and the boot was a lifesaver in the winter.
ETA: weight wasn't a factor for us... We switched at 7 months when she was getting close to the height limit but nowhere near the weight. By 16 pounds though she was too heavy to lug in it. I can't imagine carrying her around at 30 pounds!!
