Subscribing. My DS has thrown up twice in airplanes and last week we rented a car and he said he didn't feel good, but he didn't get sick. I'm thinking about just giving him half a Dramamine the next time we travel.

Has anyone tried Dramamine for kids? Can be used from age 2.

Not my LO (yet) but I have pretty bad motion sickness. Cars, airplanes, and especially busses and boats. It started when I was a kid and has gotten progressively worse. Dramamine has always helped a bit, but honestly nothing really makes it better in cars except being in the front seat. When I was a kid I just toughed it out and puked a lot. My mom always kept zip locks in the back of the car to puke into (plus paper towels and wet wipes). We still drove to every vacation. Just one of those things!

I can get car sick to this day. I get sick even in the passenger seat sometimes Which is why I prefer to be the one driving. That's why I try to drive as steady as possible. My husband can be heavy footed on the pedals (kind of like a cab driver) and that jerking motion can get me sick. Also, in windy roads, I always make sure I slow down. My son hasn't really thrown up in the car but he does get car sick. so sadly, he can't really read or watch things in the car on long rides. We also make sure to take frequent stops so everyone can get fresh air. Oh and i limit the eating and snacks before a long ride. I made the mistake of giving my daughter too much snacks on a flight once.

My DD had terrible car sickness she once threw up 9 times in a trip from NYC to Maine. When she turned 2 the doc gave us the go ahead to give her Dramamine for kids. We give her half a pill before trips. It has been life changing. We haven't figured out a solution for short cab rides etc though, er just try to have Ziploc bags and wipes on hand.
