A good friend of ours was recently diagnosed with cancer and we want to put together a care package to help him get through the treatment...
Any ideas?

Favorite snacks
Books I think he would like or brain teaser books
Music CDs of songs I think he will likeI read that tea, blankets, pain meds (?), tissues, and wipes are good too.
I have never made a care package for someone with cancer... I have made them for people in the hospital ... it gets pretty boring waiting to get discharged so I normally just send things that could pass the time.
Hopefully this at least bumps this thread for people with more experience!

Headphones and some books, or puzzle books, or kindle gift card to kill time during chemo. Some hard candies to help battle nausea. Gas cards to get back and forth from doctor appointments. Restaurant gift cards so food is easily available.

So sorry to hear about your friend. During my MIL's chemo treatments, she really enjoyed (or could have used!) a simple comfy robe, cozy socks, slippers, a nice set of noise-canceling headphones, candies, Kindle or iTunes gift card. Good luck!
