Question about the Carter's sizes: They don't give ranges so is their 3 month 0-3 or 3-6?

It depends on which brand you are comparing it to. for some brands it will be more like their 0-3 and for other brands it will be more like 3-6. I would just buy a few in a larger size and see how well it fits your LO. I really like their sizing over other brands like babies r us brand

It fit like 0-3 for us. LO was able to wear some onesies right away!

I think size 3M is up to 12 lbs....not sure of the inches...maybe 24?

Thanks! LO is still in NB but today I was working on organizing her clothes and I wasn't sure where to put the Carter's stuff. I put the 3 month with the 0-3 stuff and it sounds like that should work.

A lot of their stuff shrinks so if you haven't washed certain things, just a warning.

M is I the middle range for percentages and she has gone into 3, 6 and 9 before hitting those month birthdays. She's 6mo now and is in 6&9mo Carter's stuff.

@MamaMoose: Yup, carters is small. My little man is a peanut and carters is the only brand that he fits into corresponding months e.g. 9 months = 9 months. Whereas at 9 months he's in 3-6 mos gap and 6-9 months TCP.
So I would say that 3 months is 0-3 months.

For sure 0-3. I've always found that all of their clothes run small.

@Bao: with her NB stuff I also noticed Carter's shrank more than other brands!!

@MamaMoose: Yeah, I had a bunch of 6 month outfits and I was like there's no way she will fit into that anytime soon (she's almost 4 months), well I washed it all and it all fits her now. Ugh! So glad I didn't wait.

My little guy is long (25.5 inches at 4 months) and wears Carter's 6 month size clothing.
I haven't had much shrinkage though.. I wash on delicate and tumble dry low though, so that probably helps.

Totally asked this same question to DH in the Carter's store tonight as we shopped for clothes for our LO due in 6.5 weeks. Good to know about the shrinkage and glad we didn't buy hardly any NB sizes.

Wow, I have a big baby and I've never had a problem with shrinkage. Hmmm, maybe I just havent noticed it. I've always thought Carter's stuff has fit her for longer than other brands.

I agree with @zippylef. Carter's definitely fits DD for longer than other brands. And 3 for us, meant 0-3. Here's their size chart:
