DD1 (3.5) has really gotten into playing supermarket/restaurant in the last few weeks. My one brother who is forever last minute with gifts, will probably ask me to buy her something over the weekend. 
I was thinking a cash register would be fun!
Do you have one? What do you dis/like about it? I know the Hape one is popular but the Learning Resources one looks more "real life".

I think we have the learning resources one. I like that it has real calculator in it (solar) so that as she gets older she can work on real math.

Oh, my only "complaint" is that the coins are a pretty light weight plastic. So even though they are very realistic (head on front, building design on back and the right colors) they aren't very real feeling.

We have the learning resources one which I think will be great as she gets older. It can grow with her because of the built-in calculator. Right now (at 3), she just pushes the buttons and scans things and plays with the money.

@T.H.O.U.: is DD still playing with the coins right now? Does DS put them in his mouth? It would go right in DD2's mouth!!!

@regberadaisy: Yes, luckily we have the cheap fisher price (or little tykes) cash register. So we get him to play with that one. He also likes to tear/crumple the paper money.
So long term, I think I like the learning resources, but if you want something that both can play with right now, I would get the Hape.

@regberadaisy: Oh, DS, only really likes the part on the little tikes one where you put the coins in and they slide down the side. He doesn't really care about the drawer.
