If you are a casual babywearer, how long did you wear your baby? LO2 is 9 months and she loves to pull my hair, pinch my face, ect. She still wants to be worn facing in, otherwise tries to twist to see me. I'm thinking it might need to come to an end! How long did you go?

Lo1 only would let me for a few months around six months to eight or so.
Lo2 I'm trying a bit more with and he's only 2 months so I don't know yet!

I think other than airports I haven't worn DS since 9 or 10 months? He's a major hair puller and if he has snacks he does great in his stroller or shopping cart so I rarely bother. But he's never been keen on wearing. I'm keeping my Boba wrap and Ergo360 for this next baby and hopefully he or she likes it more, but yeah couldn't imagine being a hardcore baby wearer after DS' dislike of it.

I went about 2 years, but 9 months is when we permanently switched to a back carry.

I stopped front-carrying (and baby wearing altogether) around 8 or 9 months when he got too heavy. I use public transportation a lot and back-carrying wouldn't let me sit down.

I stopped wearing LO1 regularly maybe around 13/14 months? And stopped for good around 16 months--he just wanted to run around.

I stopped around 15 months with both. I could've gone longer as I found it convenient for things like riding the escalator at Disneyland while holding other stuff, quickly napping LO, etc but I stopped when I was pregnant bc I didn't find it comfortable. DH still wore them until about age 2 for certain outings.

I would definitely call myself a casual baby wearer and we still do it sometimes at 3 years (with a 24lb lo). We both liked facing in best...its just hard now since he's taller! I would think the messing with you stuff is just a phase...

I carried with a ring sling until she was 2ish. She started getting heavy and at the point where she could be trusted to hold my hand in public, so she liked to walk. I think having her more on my hip gave us the flexibility to carry longer maybe? That's the only carrier I had other than a Moby when she was teeny, so can't say for sure.

I just gave away our Becco two months ago, right before the kids turned 3. It was quite sporadic that I would wear them, and I often wore them on my back when they were bigger (10 months+).

I consider myself a casual wearer because I only wear her out of the house and we do use our stroller for longer trips, but I do wear her for almost all errands (so at least a few times per week). She is 19 months now and I see no reason that I'd stop wearing her any time soon. We both prefer that I wear her rather than sit her in the cart most of the time.

Not a casual Babywear momma here. I wear almost everyday. I found switching to back carries in my carrier slowed the pulling and pinching. My LOs are 3 and 22months, I still wear both. Hope you find a good solution for you and your lo.

so not casual LOL
but I wear my 2 year old! she likes to go on my back now- but it took a little bit (about a year) to really get her back there. I wear a necklace that I can turn around so she can play with it so that helps with the pulling and pinching

Until about 13 months...they were too independent after that age.

Only occasionally for airports after 12mo. I think
last time would have been 16 mo - which coincided with when he started walking & thus became way less compliant! -
DD is a year and I still wear her regularly, esp for naps on the go!
