I've worn Uggs for years now as my casual boot. I don't wear them in active snow but afterwards. Well, for what they cost, I find Uggs don't last nearly as long as I'd like them to or they should. So I'm looking for a replacement. I have Hunters for rain and active snow, knee high boots for other things. But I want a pair to wear with casual clothes, weekends, etc. - ideally option that can go over jeans or under. Any suggestions??

I have a pair if Uggs meant for more aggressive use and I LOVE them. Great tread, last forever, and work great in rain, snow, and cold.

I've been trying to figure out the same thing and have determined the boot I want just doesn't exist! I also want them to e very easy on and off, preferably slip on. And, I feel like I'm just too old for uggs. But I can't find a replacement.

I really like Hush Puppies boots this season. Never bought their shoes before but was at DSW some weeks ago and every pair that drew me was theirs. Surprise! I bought a lace-up pair and get lots of compliments. Prices are very reasonable (mine were $70 I think) and they seem durable. Good soles, waterproof but without looking rugged, still feminine.

I'm going to have to echo those that suggested Frye boots - they are amazing quality and so comfortable! I wore mine walking all over NY (literally all day and night) with thin socks and my feet were so comfortable...not too hot and not cold at all and not tired/sore at the end of the day. I stepped in a huge puddle on accident and totally dry. The leather is so butter soft and they are just so well made. Other shoes and boots kind of feel stiff and my feet get cold. Also when I walk around a lot my feet are usually tired at the end of the day but not in my Frye boots. I wore my Hunter boots on the snow day and even with two thick socks my feet got cold after several hours. This is my first pair of frye boots and I am a lifelong fan and will be buying them for life and will get them for my LO bc I know how comfortable they are

I feel like Frye's are a bit fancier than what I'm looking for. I have riding boots and cowboy boots. I need something to wear with sweatshirts and super casual stuff. I feel like Frye's are nicer than that?

@looch: I considered those... Thing is, it would look weird to wear them in the fall, for example, without any rain or snow. I feel like I'm searching for something that doesn't exist, LOL.

@looch: No activity, per se. Basically to replace when I wear my Uggs - to/from work in the winter, occasionally at work, on weekends running errands, apple/pumpkin picking, etc.

@LindsayInNY: They're not lined but actually surprisingly warm--I've been wearing them in this frigid nyc winter, and my feet have been ok! If I were going to be outside for HOURS I'd probably pick something different (uggs or hunters with wellie socks) but for a few hours out, they've been great. And they look great with everything so far! I'm so happy I got them.

Like @LindsayInNY: I have nicer riding boots, but they aren't the most comfortable for lots of walking, I have rain boots for rain and slush, actual snow boots for snow and ice (I live in New England and walk a lot!!) but no casual ugg type boot.

What about a knockoff brand of Uggs, if you're looking for the classic style? Something like Bearpaw or Emu? I am not sure how the Emu brand compares pricewise, but for the price of the Bearpaws, you could replace them every other year.

If you love uggs maybe you'll like the mayfaire style of uggs? I've had mine for over 3 years and there is no collapsing or any damage at all:) has the classic look but a bit more structured. I don't know if they are still making them, though!:)

@LindsayInNY: honestly, I love my Uggs. I have 3 different styles and despite always going out to try different styles, I ALWAYS go back to Uggs. The Ultimate short ones are rigid and I LOVE mine.
I don't know what height you have, but I got the short ones in the Cambridge style and those don't bend and get all worn out like the tall ones do. They are just more stiff, more rigid. Also, lastly, I have black "MINI" ones and I am obsessed with those, like a little too much. They always look good, unlike the tan colored ones.Here are the ones I have. I can take pics of the actual ones tomorrow but I am in bed right now and they are in the garage
