We ordered a bunch of basics for DD (2.5) from gap and old navy at 30-40% off. I happened to be on the target site today and saw that all apparel is 25% off and the prices are awesome! I'm contemplating just returning some of the GAP/ON basics and buying cat & jack instead, but worried target quality might be really lacking compared to gap or even old navy. Opinions???

We just have a couple items and they're fine. I prefer the way Old Navy and Gap fit though, especially pants.

Our stuff has held up well. It has a year warranty, so there isn't much to lose by giving it a try.

I love their stuff! I haven't had any Cat & Jack for SO long that I can really attest to the quality tho. But I've never had issues with any of the Target brands.

LOVE it! I mean, you aren't going to get the same quality compared to a higher end baby brand but I have been pleasantly surprised. All of DS (19 months) clothes are Cat & jack which he's been wearing since mid fall and will wear until they aren't appropriate for the season. Everything has held up really well. All the hems are still in place, minimal pilling, no holes, very little fading. I'm impressed!

I love Cat & Jack. I think its comparable to ON. My 2 yr old gets all her clothes dirty from daycare though, so I'm not exactly looking for something thats going to last forever.

I just saw that some of the shirts are cotton/polyester blend. Has anyone noticed them being sweatier/less breathable than all cotton?

That's all I buy now. I mean shirts for $3.75 (25% off) and leggings for under $5 you really can't go wrong. I don't feel as bad ditching a shirt I paid $3 for after a season if it's been destroyed. So far I've been able to pass them down to my younger LO though!

The quality is great, especially for the price. I like the jeans the most because they have skinny fit with adjustable waist and the lengths are long. The cotton/poly blend button down shirts we've had wash well and don't make DS sweaty. I don't care for Gap products because they run wide and short, so I can't really comment on how the products compare.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of cat and Jack stuff! That being said, most baby and toddler clothing is complete crap so if you're gonna buy it, might as well be things like the $5 jogger khakis I got my 13 month old. They are sooo stinkin cute. I actually returned some stuff to Old Navy because their cotton basics just do not hold up,

Everything we have had has held up just as well as ON. It washes well and has held up to the abuse of a 3 year old. She is more likely to outgrow her clothes before they get destroyed so I would rather just buy inexpensive basics anyway

I would compare it to Old Navy as well. I think it shrinks more quickly than higher end brand but other than that the quality is great for the price!

I don't really think that Gap or ON are that high of quality. the styles are nice but I wouldn't pay more from a quality perspective esp for basics.

I've been really happy with the Cat & Jack stuff that we've had since the beginning of fall. And with the sales they have frequently you can't beat the price.
I have been pretty unhappy with the GAP stuff that I've gotten the past 2 years - and have been sticking to Old Navy instead. Especially their pajamas, they hold up much better than the GAP ones. -
@babybean404: I think it varies. I looked at the stuff in store first when they had a sale in the fall for my daughter's fall school clothes. I was happy with about 50% that I saw online.
