we only have one cat now (had two until recently) and she does go into both charlie and olive's room, but never ever into their cribs. she's scared of charlie! we always leave the room doors open.

i guess it depends on the cat.

The second the crib went up the cats jumped in. I'd shoo them out when I would catch them, but I wouldn't always catch them. So I got a net to put over it while we wait for LO's arrival. I also bought the AngelCare monitor that will alarm if the weight inside the crib changes. My cats are really skiddish and I feel like they'll keep away from him.
You can also get a CatScram - it's a little box that transmits noise that humans can't hear but drives cats nuts. I have one in my foyer because I don't want them at the downstairs doors. My oldest cat tried it once and it really spazzed her out. It's been 4 years and she never tried it again.

We have 2 cats and when we prepped the nursery they would go in the nursery, and jump on the changing table and the crib.

So a little trick, you take aluminium paper, put a large piece in places you don't want the cats to go. They jumped in it once or twice and got soooo scared they never went back!

I will have to try this foil trick!!! I think the cats knew it was not ok to jump on crib or changing table from the start. The diva cat is almost 20 lbs and can barely jump, so I wasn't worried about her!

I have two cats: one cat (diva) hated baby the minute she saw him, the other cat (sweet) is always on security detail - likes to make sure baby is ok. A couple of nights ago LO cooed and sweet cat mewed back and forth until he passed out.
