DD's poop is a lot drier and harder now that she has solids 2 meals/day. It tends to just flake off. However, we;ve had a few occasions were it's softer, and i just scrape it off into the toilet with a brush and spray bottle. Works just fine and it hasn't been a huge change in our routine.

We started with solids(1 meal) at 6 months and her poop was smellier and thicker but not solid. I didn't use a sprayer at first and I just wiped the diaper down with TP and sprayed it with Bac out. I started using Bumkins liners and that was a lifechanger...I did waste a lot of liners on pee but it was worth it when her poops were thick and nasty before they turned into clean logs ( 3 solid meals a day) at 10-11 months.

Don't be scared - it will be okay For poop diapers, we change LO at her changing station in her room and then take the diaper to the bathroom. I shake the diaper, then use a sprayer to get rid of any remaining solids. Then I put the diaper in a planet wise diaper bag that we have hanging in the bathroom rather than carrying it back across the hall to the diaper pail in her room. This requires more wet bags, but I think it's easier to have one in the bathroom and one in her bedroom. I prefer using the sprayer to using liners. I felt like I was wasting liners since my LO doesn't poop at the same time every day, so we were using a liner with every change in case she pooped. My LO's poop is soft, so liners really don't contain the poop all that well for us, even now that she's 20 months. The sprayer takes a little bit of practice so that you don't get spray-back, but once you figure it out, it's so simple. The poop won't change too much while you're still breastfeeding the majority of LO's calories. When we got down to three-ish BFs a day, LO's poop changed to something much more akin to adult poop, which sounds grosser, but really isn't a big deal since you'll work your way there gradually Once LO starts solids, you do need to get rid of the poop before throwing the diaper into the wash since solids poop isn't water soluble, even though the appearance may not change much from entirely BF poop. You could possibly get away with it for a little while since your LO won't be eating much solids, but I personally wouldn't want to chance leftover poop in my washer.
