Just curious.... my DH was adamantly against CDing and these are all questions he asked. I am really hoping to do it with our next LO.

I haven't found it too hard at all, the only thing that sucks is the poopy. I actually love the look of them so much that sometimes my LO goes pants-less.
Rinsing off the poop isn't that fun (in fact I just had a huge poopy I had to handle). It does take getting use to, however my house doesn't smell like poop anymore! It is much easier with my 2 year old than my 7 month old. It isn't the most fun thing in the world, but it isn't that horrible either.
I do CD laundry about every other to every three days. That isn't hard at all. Easiest part of cloth diapering if you ask me.
In terms of poops in public... hasn't happened yet. I don't believe I'll be rinsing it in a public toilet though, I'll just shove it in a wet bag and deal with the mess at home (in a clean toilet).
Now for the disclaimers, I didn't CD with a newborn. I have only been doing it for about two months now, but I've heard that newborn poop (especially breastfed babies) is super duper easy. It is once they start eating food it gets hard (when I started). I am scared of the public poop, so if I know we are going to be out for a long time (especially during poop time) I put a disposable one on the kiddos. Overall though, I'm happy about it and love not having to buy diapers all the time!

It took about a 2 weeks or so to really get the hang of it. we use all in one diapers so it was just tricky understanding the right snap setting to have it on and figuring out the best laundry routine

Yes we have a sprayer by potty pail, it takes adjusting it many times to get the spray just right so it doesnt make a big mess everywhere.

right now we only cloth diaper evenings, nights and weekends, and we have 24 cloth diapers. we do laundry every5 or 6 days. we just do two cycles. we wash it once with detergentand then wash it the 2nd time with just hot water.

In public we just planet wise wet bags and just fold the diaper and put it in the planet wise wet bag which really contains wetness and odor. Then I handle the spraying when I get home.
we also didnt cloth diaper her until her belly button healed up around 4 weeks.

I didn't really find it to be a pain at all. It did take some learning different dipes and their fit but we started CD'ing as soon as we came home with a small stash that I washed daily, we always had dipes and only twice have I almost forgotten to wash and not have any. DH has learned all the different styles as well. He still likes them better than having to remember to pick up sposies.
Did rinsing the poop off take some getting used to?
DD is still ebf so I don't rinse off poo. We plan on getting some disposable liners and a diaper sprayer here soon before we start solids.

I wash daily. It hasn't really been a hassle at all and I HATE doing laundry! Oddly enough I don't mind diaper laundry at all... DH knows how to wash them as well.

I have a wet bag all the dirty dipes go into and then into the pail when we get home. I plan on getting some good liners for outings so I won't have to spray them completely when we get home.

1- It wasn't a big deal at all. When you're changing 12-14 diapers a day in the beginning your learning curve is super fast. DH was instantly appreciative of how much we were saving because they just go through so many.
2-We didn't have to rinse poop until after we started solids, and by then he wasn't pooping in every diaper. We got a bidet (diaper sprayer) and it was never a big deal. It was short time that we had to use it a lot because once he started eating a lot of solids, it would just plop off (tmi? sorry).
3- We wash twice a week (have a big stash for this purpose). Pre-rinse cold, then one long hot wash with extra rinse...it doesn't take any more effort than any other load of laundry.
4- We use wet bags in public. If we're at someone's house or near a bathroom, then I plop the poop in the toilet. Otherwise it goes in the bag and take cake of it when I get home.
FWIW DH was also weary at first but the $ savings convinced him to let us try it. Then once he saw how easy it was he became a total convert. Now he tries to convince all his friends that they should use cloth too...cute! Also he's super grossed out by disposables as a side effect and refuses to use them.

I started when LO was around 2.5 months. I kept delaying it, fearing that it wouldn't work out. It was a lot easier than I expected. Poop diapers aren't that scary, and washing diapers is a lot easier than washing clothes. All diapers go in a wet bag, and I spray the poop ones down with a diaper spray. Everything from the wet bag gets dumped into the washing machine, and it's really that easy. I wash diapers every other day. If we are running errands around town, then my LO wears cloth (dirty diapers go in a wet bag). If we are going out for the entire day, then we'll use disposables. We have been cloth diapering for over a year now, and it has been working out really well.

1.How big of pain was CDing when you first started, really? Not very. I think I was overwhelmed at first by diaper prep, but once it's done, it's done. And really it's just a few rinses. We got Bum Genius All in One, One Size Diapers. So really they're pretty much like regular diapers except instead of putting them in the trash you put them in the wash and reuse them again.
2. Did rinsing the poop off take some getting used to? We don't rinse, we throw out. We have liners so you just pick up the poo and toss it in the toilet.

3. What's your laundry situation like? I do laundry every other day. Rinse cold, wash with detergent on delicate, two rinses, then 3 dry cycles. It's a process..... but I'm a SAHM so I just do it as I go about my day.

How do you handle the CDing in public places. Do you rinse the poo off? Like I said, we use liners. I take the poo off and it just depends where I am. If I'm in a bathroom I put it in a toilet. If I'm not, I'll put the poo in a plastic bag (I always have little plastic bags with me) and put it in the trash, and I put her diaper in a wet bag to take home.
I also had to talk my DH into cloth diapering. But I did ask him recently what he thought about it and if he would still want to do it if I hadn't made him. He said that he totally would and that he loved it. He also admitted that he might feel differently if he was the one doing the laundry.

It was almost no hassle at all, especially at the start. I didn't start rinsing poop off until about 7 months, when she started on a lot of solids. That part is a hassle, no doubt. I usually only go out for 3-4 hours at a time, and she doesn't get diaper rash, so I rarely change her in public. Just right before we leave. When I do, I have those little dog poop bags, and the entire cloth diaper goes into it, and she goes into a disposable. Or if I know I'll be out all day, sometimes I'll just put her in a disposable to save the hassle of transporting it home. If I were out more, I'd just take a small wet bag with me.
I do laundry every 3 or 4 days, and I don't do the crazy complicated cycles that people do. Wash on hot, dry on high. My diapers are no longer pristine white, but I don't really need them to be, so long as they're clean and sanitary. The only part I really don't like is how long it takes to assemble the gdiapers that I use. Mine is a big wiggly toddler now, and seconds count when they hate sitting still for a change. Also I hate spraying the poop off. All that said, I'd still never consider switching. I couldn't stand the thought of all those disposables sitting in a landfill. And the cost!

It surprisingly wasn't painful for the most part. We started off with a trial of a bunch of different diapers and some were better than others. In the end, I settled on diapers from LovelyPocketDiapers.
Did rinsing the poop off take some getting used to?
Don't have experience with poo-rinsing yet since we are still EBF. This makes cleaning the diapers so much easier at the moment, and we're hoping that liners will help with the poop in the future. Sounds easy enough to just lift the poopy liner and throw it into the toilet and flush! We shall see!
What's your laundry situation like?
We do CD laundry once every 3 days. DH is the one that throws the dirty diapers into the wash and that to me is the hardest part of the job! I do everything else, from fiddling with the settings on the washer (one cold rinse, one hot wash with detergent), throwing the inserts in the dryer, hanging the covers, and stuffing the diapers.

I haven't had to deal with changing diapers in public, so I can't speak to that, but I am prepared with a PlanetWise wetbag should it happen!

I use the Rave diapers from LovelyPocketDiapers. I appreciate the special features of these diapers, such as the double gussets that hold in the poop at the legs, and the double pocket openings where we don't have to remove the insert at all since it just comes out on its own in the wash. That saves an extra step as well! They're also good for up to 35lbs, I think! Another thing is that they are relatively inexpensive ($12) compared to other diapers out there, but that's because they are manufactured in China. I have had no problems with them thus far and find them to be of good quality.
Also, how many diapers do you have/need?
I have 18 Rave pocket diapers, and 4 other regular pocket diapers, and 2 that I don't really consider a part of my stash but are there for emergencies.
Hope you manage to convince your DH! So many positives to CD-ing! 
My DH actually would rather do CD than have to take the effort to throw out bags of dirty disposables. We did disposables for the first month, and he was so lazy with taking the trash out. Hahaha. We also had several close calls where we almost ran out of disposables, and the costs adds up!

What diapers do you recommend? Do you find there are downsides to the one-size-fits-all kind? We have Bun Genius all in one, one size. I love love love them, they're very easy to use. No stuffing, no having to buy more when my LO grows. The downside is they take a long time to dry. My LO is a big girl (95th percentile) so I was kind of worried that she'd grow out of the one size...... but she's 14 months and still has 4 snaps to go.
Also, how many diapers do you have/need? We have 30 diapers. Most people don't need that many, but for me it's nice to have more. I get severe migraines so if I'm unable to do laundry right away it's nice not to have to worry about it. Also for times like now when LO has diarrhea and is going way way more than normal, it's very nice to have more. I'm actually doing laundry daily and have been for over a week because she is pooing so much, I don't know what I would do if I didn't have so many diapers. On a normal day 30 is too many..... but now it is nice.

- Not a pain at all! The laundry proces was a bit of a learning curve, because I have hard water, and had to switch detergents, but really once I figured that out we don't find it hard at all.

We are still EBF so I don't rinse poop. I just toss the whole thing in the diaper pail and then run a cold rinse when I throw it in the washer. We plan on using flushable liners once we start solids.
What's your laundry situation like?
- Laundry every 2-3 days (when the pail is full, I never run out of diapers). I run a cold wash cycle with no spin to rinse, then a sanitize cycle with double rinse. I dry the inserts and fitteds in the dryer, and line dry the pockets.

I just fold the diaper in half to cover up the poop and zip it in the wet bag. Once he is on solids I will flush the liner+poop if we are near a toilet, otherwise I won't do anything differently.

- My favourite hands down are Fuzzibunz, I prefer them over any snap down rise adjusting diapers because they are SO bulky over the crotch.
- My best advise would be to invest in a few of several diapers, they all have their good and bad points, and I actually enjoy having a variety, even if I usually reach for the fuzzibunz first.
- One size diapers are great after a few weeks, I found none of them fit Sawyer before he hit 10 pounds. I will be doing more small sized/newborn diapers for our next baby.
Also, how many diapers do you have/need?
- I have about 50 ... way way more than needed. I would say you should have about 30, I know many sites say 24, but that wouldn't be enough for me, because I find it takes me a day to get the laundry done, and the diapers re-stuffed and put away.

-A big one because I did TOO MUCH. Initially just keep everything in a hanging, zip closed wetbag. Like EVERYTHING dirty. Then allow the machine rinse to get all the poop--no scraping necessary while still EBF. It's only in the midterm "peanut butter poop" stage when you need to do more with the poop. I haven't gotten there yet.

-NO! I just put it in the wetbag and deal with it at home. Initially I rinsed EVERY poop off as soon as I had baby changed (except when out). No I do it when I do the whole bag of laundry. Easy peasy. SO MUCH EASIER now that I went to a cloth diapering 101 class.
The most important thing is to use a real detergent (like powder Tide free and clear, and definitely not Dreft).
We started when he came home from the hospital and used the snap down for his belly button. The cd 101 class said you can actually cover the stump before it falls off if the snap down chafes the stump.
How many?
newborn: 12, washed daily
small: 7 covers, 13 cloths, washed daily
medium: 10 covers, 18 cloths, wash every 2 days YAY!

I made it more complicated than I should have. I was just nervous about it. And for some reason I was determined to use prefolds, but they just weren't right for us. Once I gave that up CDing was much easier!

EBF poop goes straight into the diaper pail! Now that she's eating solids her poop is different, but she only goes every 3-4 days still. We chose to forgo the diaper sprayer because I was scared I would get poop everywhere. We just swish in the toilet. Easy peasy.

I was every 2-3 days. Poopy diapers get swished in the toilet and then sprayed with Bac Out before going in the diaper pail. Prewash on cold (sometimes with Bac Out), hot cycle + extra water feature, extra rinse. Unfortunately, our washer doesn't let you choose extra water and extra rinse at the same time, so I have to do a separate rinse cycle for that. We just switched from Charlie's Soap to Original Tide Ultra.

Nope. I just roll it up in the wetbag and wait until I get home.

We use BG and Swaddlebees AIOs, BG pockets, and fitteds + covers. I try to use as much cotton as possible. The BG 4.0s are the only non-cotton diapers we have, and I just got them for when we're out of the house and not changing as often. Both DH and I LOVE the fitteds and covers, DH especially. One size fits all doesn't really work on smaller babies. Our BG Elementals and 4.0s didn't fit well until LO was about 12-13 lbs.
Also, how many diapers do you have/need?
9 fitteds, 3-4 covers, 5 pockets, and 6-7 AIOs... I think. Those numbers are from memory, so they could be totally off.
