We live in NM and are steeped in Hispanic culture and love it! We are hoping to send our daughter to one of the public bilingual schools that does Spanish immersion.
I guess I don't have any stories, really. Mantanzas and quinceañeras are just what we do here

How'd I miss this post ?!
Personal story: I grew up in Boston speaking Spanish (it was my first language) but inevitably English became my dominant language. My dad was very adamant about my sister and I only speaking Spanish at home and for that I am so grateful! I was able to retain it and am bilingual. I'm trying my best to raise LO bilingual. She understands a lot of Spanish! No words yet, but no English words either.
