I was talking to my mom when she visited about what we plan to use/buy for the baby's nursery. I have a dresser that is about waist height that I was thinking I would get a pad I could affix (screw straps to the back where they won't leave a mark) and save myself from buying a piece of furniture that only gets used for a couple years.
Maybe because it used to be her dresser, she thought this was a horrible idea. Because babies poop and pee while you're changing them sometimes, and you might not wipe it up right away and it might ruin the furniture (which is 50 years old and already has some scratches/dings)
But when I think of buying a new changing table, I would buy one with drawers in it to make it functional for longer, and what would the point of that be when I already have a spare dresser?
So what did you decide? Did you buy a piece of furniture that was marketed as a changing table? Use something else? Not use a changing table at all?
