My son is a lip biter/sucker and combined with the dry, cold temperatures, he has bright red, chapped cheeks/mouth. What do I do for that? Vaseline? Coconut oil?

I used Aquaphor. After bath I would use his regular lotion and then seal it all in with Aquaphor. Vaseline in a pinch of we were out.

My son gets badly chapped cheeks this time of year. We lather him up with Aquaphor and try to keep the humidifier going (our house is dry, which I think contributes!).

We use this on cheeks and lips. I found it at a local health food store.

Our pediatrician said to use Vaseline or similar. Our house is really dry too now that the heat is on.

@CakeLady: good idea. He's going outside every day at daycare, and today was the day it got really bad. I'll have to ask her to put it in him too.

@chopsuey: yes! Lansinoh is awesome for chapped lips or if your nose gets raw from blowing it.
My daughter gets chapped cheeks in the cold, so I try to remember to slather her with cream before we go out. I use a brand called A-Derma, which is what my derm in France recommended.
