@Mrs. Bee: I'm so bad about cleaning our humidifier! We run it 24/7 in the baby's room. Totally going to clean it tomorrow! You've got me paranoid! and YES! i'm a pear!!!

@Mrs Bee do you get a lot of fatty acids/vitamin B in your diet? If youre lacking these your lips are more prone to chapping. Also have you tried lanolin based lip stuff?

I use Carmex and love it! I do put it on every couple hours though and before I sleep. Hope you're able to find a solution soon!

I heard if you use too much chap stick you get addicted and it won't help anymore. Maybe you can not use it for a few days and see if it helps.

i just buy medicated chap stick and that helps a bunch. but i have a feeling yours may be a lot more chapped than mine (although mine is pretty chapped right now). i think it's the cold, dry air for me.

I use carmex too, its the only that works when my lips are really chapped. I tried burts bees but it dries off my lips too quickly

Vasoline or other petroleum jelly. My lips were peeling, cracked, and bleeding 2 days ago. Applied some of that every couple of hours and they were healing my bedtime. My mom has always told me not to use chapstick because the more you use it the more your lips will think they need it causing them to chap more. Not sure of the validity to that point but hey, mom's always right. Right?

I use the medicated blistex and I love it.

Vaseline + EOS chapstick.

DH swears by Burt's Bees (though he's liking the EOS one I got him)

You can buy lip exfoliators! It helps!

I just use plain old Chapstick and rosebud lipgloss. Burt's is good for more intensive moisture. I used to love Carmex, but the taste bothers me now.

@Mrs. Bee: How often do you use them? My lips were badly chapped for a while and I used aquaphor like mad until I developed an allergic reaction to it. Now I use regular vaseline and that seems to work for me. The best way that worked for me would be I'd wet my lips and then put the vaseline over on top to seal in the moisture. Whenever it felt like the vaseline was wearing off, I'd re-apply. I also always put it on at night before bed, and that helps tremendously.

@Mrs. Bee: I suspect you need to use it more often, at least until your lips heal. I was applying every hour when my lips were at their worse, but they eventually healed and then I was able to cut back. I still regularly apply Vaseline to my lips, but only when they start feeling dry, and not constantly like I was when they were super chapped.

I do think my constant applying of Aquaphor is what caused me to develop an allergic reaction, but after that I switched to Vaseline and applied it just as regularly and never had a problem.
