I am a major coffee addict! I drank decaf in the beginning of my pregnancy, and then further along I started doing 1/2 and 1/2 and then towards the end I was back to reg

I drank coffee all through my pregnancy, but really only a large cup in the morning. In the summer, I generally lose my taste for coffee, which happened as well during pregnancy.

I drank coffee throughout my pregnancy but had to limit myself to one cup a day.

I was a major coffee addict before getting pregnant. I used to be a 5-6 cups per day girl. We were NTNP for three months and TTC for two before getting a BFP. I gave up all coffee before our second month TTC and that's the cycle that worked. I don't know that our BFP and my quitting coffee are related, but I'm still not back on the stuff.

i'm not a coffee addict (i don't even drink it), but i am a diet coke addict. right now i'm still drinking it, but i've quit before & as silly as it seems, i had to mix regular and caffeine free to make half caf diet coke, lol! that cut back on the physical part of it (headaches were a bay with just a bit of caffeine), then i would drink something else first- like a had to drink a glass of water before i could drink a diet coke, that way i had already drank something so i didn't want it as much, but i still had some. maybe you'll get lucky and have an aversion to it once you get pregnant! =D

I waited until I got a BFP - but to begin with I only drank about 2 cups a day (XL hot, if bought out). I was worried about withdrawal but I had ZERO desire to drink coffee during the first trimester..it made me ill every time.
Once I hit the second trimester, I was able to drink it again, but I limit myself based on caffeine intake. I know you can have up to 300 mg/day, my OB recommended <150 mg so if you accidentally go over, you're okay.

I'm such a coffee addict! I've been cutting down by: (1) forcing myself to not drink more than 2 cups a day; (2) occasionally, I'll drink tea instead of coffee; and (3) I recently bought some decaf to mix in with my regular.

I have limited my caffeine somewhat, but I am a zombie without it in the mornings!

I'm cutting back on my caffeine pre-TTC because I was majorly addicted. My plan is to get to the point where I don't NEED it in the morning before I'm pregnant, so that not having any won't send me into major headaches. I figure I'll have some while pregnant, but I don't want to have it every day, especially in the beginning.

I was soooo surprised, coffee/caffeine in general did not sit well with me during pregnancy. I used to drink 1-2 cups a day, but then once I was pregnant it made me extremely jittery and squirmy. I also had diarrhea issues if I drank it. So it ended up being easy for me to give up.
I switched to tea

I did not cut down whatsoever for TTC but tapered over the course of a week once I found out I was pregnant. I won't try drinking coffee only because I get really sensitive to it and then I need to go up a cup just so I don't feel like crap, and I know I"ll be up to 4 cups in no time. It's hard going to Starbucks though, I've been living off non-caffeine frappucinos!

I actually quit drinking coffee cold turkey before we started TTC, on our vacation- I figured I could deal with withdrawal better while relaxing than while at work. It worked pretty well.
There have been a few days where I've gone for an afternoon coffee, but I have to say I actually feel better now. I miss the taste and the ritual of sitting and sipping my morning coffee, so I'm trying to drink herbal tea in the mornings instead. I wanted to not drink coffee during pregnancy because I just have this notion (non-science or doctor based) that I want to limit the general "stress" in my life, and I can't do much about my crazy job, but I can cut out caffeine (which is a kind of stress, in a way, you know?)

I drank coffee thru ttc til we got the bfp. Then didn't drink it at all during first trim. Started occasionally having a cup a day in the second.

I drank probably 4-5 cups of coffee through the day before we started TTC. I slowly started to cut back until I was at 1-2 a day. I had MAYBE 1 cup of coffee the entire first trimester...the smell and taste made me sick (along with everything else, lol).
In the second and third trimesters I've probably had a cup a day (usually home brewed, in a mug). Sometimes I have a second, sometimes I don't even finish half of my first. I don't know that I even need it as much now...but I enjoy the ritual of brewing it and drinking it.

@Hanzabelle: I quit coffee entirely for TTC. I had a M/C and I just felt the overwhelming need to quit anything foreign/chemical as much as I can control... I know, crazy organic lady over here haha. I'm not perfect with it (actually far from it), but after I got over the withdrawl headache I was 100% fine and now feel better without coffee. I drink about one soda per week, though...There's just somethings you can't give up!

I just read that women consuming caffeine can reduce your chances of getting Pregnant... so I want to cut down....I want to give my body the best chance I can!

I wouldn't call myself an addict because I only drink a couple cups a week, but I switched to buying decaf for the cups I make at home. I get more than enough caffeine from Dr. Peppers. I probably have one of those evey other day..

The first time around when we were thinking of TTC I cut down to two cups, then after BFP one cup and within a couple weeks down to none. I had the occasional decaf but that was it. This time around I cut to one cup and I've kept having it. I just can't seem to get rid of it with a toddler that needs my full attention, and it is one of the only things that doesn't make me nauseous..

I used to drink 5-6 cups/day and now I'm down to drinking a decaf coffee every other day. I'd like to limit the amount especially during the first trimester, and I might do a cup of coffee occasionally during the remaining months of my pregnancy.

i skipped caffeine during the first trim but after that i drank a small tea cup sized once a day.

I drank it all before TTC: Coffee, hot tea, iced tea, soda, etc. During TTC and pregnancy, I switched to decaf coffee and bought some nice decaf tea bags to make hot tea. I drank Sprite and Rootbeer since they don't have caffeine if I needed soda. And then I'd sparingly drink something caffeinated like a real coffee or a Diet Coke.
ETA: Coffee disgusted me in the first trimester, so I didn't consume any decaf or not.

I gave it up cold turkey in the first tri, then went back to a cup a day in the second tri. Towards the end I'd pour myself a second mug, but wouldn't finish it.

I was told I could have up to 3 caffeines a day. That included soft drinks, coffee, tea and chocolat... so I just chose what I felt like. Honestly I would have 1 coffee a day during the week...during my whole pregnancy.

I was the biggest coffee addict, but cut it out cold turkey when i found out i was pregnant at 6 weeks. It was the hardest thing i had to do, but i didn't want to find any reason to blame myself if something happened (i had miscarried a few months earlier).
Funny enough, i had more energy to get me through the day without that daily coffee!
