That's a disgusting comparison. She chose the limelight. Rape victims don't CHOOSE to be raped.

I saw this and thought the SAME thing -- it's like she's trying to compete with Gwyneth in foot-in-mouth syndrome. How offensive!

Wow that's just so terrible.

Ugh...seriously. Has she EVER talked to a woman who's been affected by rape. She choose a career that she KNEW would be public, rape victims do not choose. UGH and I liked her...

@LuLu Mom: Just did a quick search and it looks like she's been working with a rape crisis center and anti-AIDS group for 15 years or so (the interview was 3 years ago):

And what happens when you start talking about the rape crisis in South Africa, you start understanding that there's a bigger problem because you're dealing with a country that's highly infected with HIV and AIDS. >>

@mrbee: Wow, to think she's worked with women who have actually been raped and she STILL thinks her experience is similar? What happened to perspective? Ugh.

@HLK208: THIS. Thats exactly what I was thinking. You become famous knowing the paps are going to be in your face.

Um, wow. I mean, famous people.have a right to privacy, too, but this comparison is uncalled for. Shame on her.

What a terrible, stupid comparison! It makes me sick to my stomach to read this. No wonder they need publicist. They suck at impromptu speeches and public speaking. They need scripts for sure.
