CharterBees, I need help. What is going on. I threw out my temp from yesterday, but still had a BFN this morning. I was feeling crampy yesterday and have had my classic tender boobs the last week, but this morning, cramping gone, sore boobs gone, and no sign of AF!! Can that all be from the progesterone?
cantaloupe / 6206 posts
Your LP isn't so impossibly long, you might just not be out yet! Today is 14dpo right? With your temps still high, you could still be in!

@jojogirl: Ugh!!!! Why can't the test just say "pregnant"! I'm sure it's much ado about nothing.
pomelo / 5041 posts
@jojogirl: I'm so excited for you! Crossing my fingers for you, but I understand what it's like to get your hopes up. Try to forget about it for now, but rejoice when it's a BFP!

@JennKam: I'm sorry about your temp drop =( I know the progesterone CAN delay the temp drop and can delay menstruation, but does not in all women's cases.
ETA: Yes, all of those things can be due to the progesterone. =/ Sorry!!!!!

@Grace: That's good to know about the CM and TCOYF. And VERY good to know about the Kegels. I think naturally we kind of do a little bit of it already, but I will definitely do more and see if that helps.

@evenstar982: If you are not patient, and you have taken several HPT's, and your temp is very low, there are herbal ways to induce menstruation... But I'm not sure how I/you would feel about that, just something to keep in mind. I know some women who O'ed very late in their cycle and still got a BFP!! Keep your hopes up!

Sorry for the multiple posts ladies, that's what I get for not checking back with you sooner and it being on a separate page! I hate that they don't have reply boxes on the bottom of every thread like they have on WB. That's really handy =)
I just wanted to update y'all, today was my endometrial biopsy. Cross posting from WB: IT WAS SO EASY! Went GREAT! I just breathed really deeply and focused on relaxing all my lady parts and everything went very smoothly. It kind of felt like you had to poop realllllly bad (you know that lower abdomen cramping you get when you know you gotta get to a toilet PRONTO). He basically inserts a plastic, rubbery tube attached to a syringe wayyyy up inside my hooha to reach my endometrium, suctions some stuff out, and sends it to the lab. He then spent an hour (yes, an HOUR, I love him) answering all my questions. Then he, the nuse and I sat around and talked about politics, the election, IUI, IVF and ISCI for like 30 minutes. Best. Doctor. Ever! I found out that he is an OB/GYN and an RE for sure. Crazy! A few hours after the EMB, here I am, and I feel good, a little crampy, but it feels just like menstrual cramps and I have a heating pad on me which helps. I find out the results end of this week or next week =)
I also showed him my previous CD15 bloodwork which he said further proved I'm not ovulating. Next cycle I have to get CD14 bloodwork drawn and then it's on to Clomid in November or December. I feel good =) Also, I just found out that he wants to do a post-coital cervical mucous sample to find if I am allergic to my husband's sperm.

@chucknorris: you can be allergic to sperm?! That's not ALL I gleaned from your post, glad you have such a great doc.... But really, allergic? Is there a Claritin for that?
pomelo / 5041 posts
@Jennkam: I love it! You totally made me laugh. But @Chucknorris definitely has me wondering about sperm allergies. I should remember this if we end up at an RE next month.

Okay. I know I have a few days of feeling down at the end of every cycle, but I'm already feeling it and I haven't even O'ed yet. I don't even feel like trying anymore because of this MFI thing - it's kind of like, what's the point? I feel betrayed by DH and his family for knowing for decades that his varicocele issues would cause infertility but not telling me. Wouldn't it have been fair for me to know before we got married? If nothing else, I would have pushed to start trying much sooner (we're both in our 30s and have been married several years now). I'm bitter that his mother knew and didn't even try to help her child, but I'm the only chance my dad has to become a grandparent and he is so looking forward to us having a baby. And if I stop TTC, I don't know how I could stay married with all of this anger that I have.

@Spaniellove: I'm so sorry! Is there any possibility for IVF or something else? I know that my husband is older and likely may have some fertility issues, but I always just figure we'd save up for IVF if that was our only issue. I too couldn't live without a baby.
honeydew / 7916 posts
@ambular1025: It would be an option, but I'd be expected to pay for it myself which I think is unfair considering the circumstances and that getting pregnant and IVF on top of it would aggravate my health issues. And of course, once the baby is born I'd have to pay for every last thing out of my own pocket. This sucks.

@spaniellove: ugh I'm so sorry I'd be upset too - communication is key. I hope everything works out xo

@Spaniellove: I'm sorry!! What an unfair situation to be in. Sending positive thoughts your way.

@spaniellove: I feel like I've come in halfway through a conversation, so bear with me if I start talking nonscense. I agree with you that it would have been good for your DH to tell you before you got married. Mine told me there might be a problem a couple dates in. I can understand that you feel betrayed. I wonder if he didn't want to believe it? Lots of men have a lot of pride in their virility. As for his family, would it have been their place to tell you? Or perhaps they thought you already knew?
It's a sucky situation. I'm sorry. Is there nothing that can be done? Aren't there surgeries for variocles?

@ChuckNorris: did your doc tell you anything profound? I'm half excited and half nervous for my appointment on Monday. I'm not expecting it to be as good as yours, since I'm only seeing my GP, but one can hope!

@JoJoGirl-- thanks girl! i'm hoping this month is it for the both of us! how exciting for spotting!!!
@April_Showers: thanks girl!! yea, i am beyond busy with those little ones... i'm so stressed out... i have one kid that just cries all day... and she won't even come into the classroom...we're trying to see if we can put her in a homeschool program in our district because the regular classroom is not going to work for her. i also have 7 BOYS who are considered discipline problems from kindergarten-- mainly because they are bad listeners and immature...
@spaniellove: i feel like a circus clown/performer... always juggling this and that... and constantly having to change up stuff.. sometimes i feel like a total freak while teaching because of the way my voice sounds. LOL! i hope you are doing ok... hugs to you!!
@ChuckNorris: thanks lady! wow, your doc sounds amazing!!

@JennKam&&@ambular1025: Haha, yes, you can be allergic. It's not an allergy like, if you're allergic to latex and you get a localized itchy, swollen red reaction. It's only detected by microscope and the female is asymptomatic - the cells of her cervix attack the sperm as if it is a foreign invader. No Claritin unfortunately, the patient has to move directly to IUI/IVF. There's no other treatment. I think he's just doing it as a precautionary measure - to rule it out =)

@spaniellove: I am, just, so sorry about all of that. It's something I cannot even fathom. If I were in your position, I have to be honest, I would leave. It's absurd, so unfair and such an awful act of betrayal. I knew that I would have problems conceiving from the get-go, and I told my DH within a few dates that it's a possibility, but that I will do anything to get pregnant, and if he wants to continue, he has to be on board with that. It's just, that's how life works in my opinion. I wish I had more words of encouragement... I'm so sorry. So sorry.

@Grace: I hope he gives you good advice!!! I've heard mixed reviews about meeting with a GP about fertility stuff..
I wouldn't say he gave me profound advice or anything, mostly reviewed EOD/laying down after sex/missionary/etc. Because I'm familiar with the hormones and the processes through my work and my history of anatomy and physiology, it was just super educational. He draws a panel of labs that is literally like 30 different things (they took 11 vials of blood, yes, 11!!) and he went through EACH hormone and said what each one does, contributes to, and how it affects the body if it's off, and how it's treated. The most shocking part of it all was my diagnosis. The hardest part to take in was the plan (there are so many little details!).
I will say that when I met with my GP about it, she drew three labs, and gave me very minimal advice. I was HIGHLY disappointed. Especially because the labs she drew are what he says further prove anovulation, and she said they were all normal and that I would be fine. I don't want to get your hopes down, but I just want to share what my experience was with my GP. Hopefully yours is a little more up on the times!!!
Best advice ever: Bring your charts, a list of symptoms or concerns (I was concerned because I started spotting when my temp dropped at 7DPO, things like that), and family history. I really hope it goes well!!! Keep me posted!!
cantaloupe / 6730 posts
@ChuckNorris: I'm worried about that too, but I have hope because she has a "interest in women's health" (so says her website) and because she's never had a problem referring me to someone else before. So if all I get are labs and a referral to a gyno, i'll be a happy girl.
It's awesome that your doc was so thorough. I'm jealous!!

@Grace: For labs, do you have a list of things that you would want drawn? I can give you the things that my RE ordered if you want, so you can ask for more. If you live in the US, ask your doctor to copy the labs to you, and you can have them on file so you can interpret them on your own (most GP's don't ask for what CD you are on and then only you can see if they are abnormal) and bring them with you to other doctor's offices. That's how I first discovered I had a true problem.
cantaloupe / 6730 posts
@ChuckNorris: I've got a list of labs that are in TCOYF, and I'm totally asking for a copy of the results (they let you have them in Canada too). Thanks for the advice!

@April_Showers: I spy a temp spike!
@JoJoGirl: I'm not saying anything (about your temp this morning). Buy I really wanna!!!

Hi all! I am new to the charting world, and I have a question for y'all since you seem to be experts This is my first month charting, and it's going pretty well. I have been using FF and got my crosshairs on CD 19 (I O'ed on CD 16). Last night, I went to the bathroom and when I wiped, there was a tiny bit of light pink spotting. Yesterday was 7 DPO for me. We are not currently TTC (I am just charting to prepare for TTC), and we've been using condoms so it shouldn't be implantation bleeding. I went to the bathroom a couple of hours later and it was gone and there wasn't any in my underwear. Do you think this is something I should be worried about? Have any of you experienced this?
papaya / 10570 posts
Right!! I bit the bullet and signed up to FF. I've just uploaded my last month's manual stats onto there. How do i share with you all - and how do I stalk your charts?!!
Edit - I think I've worked out what to do and I'm inviting you all now!

@Ali: I just got your request - but like someone was kind enough to advise me, change your nickname so I know which one your chart is!! Yay for chart buddies!

@lawbee11: I have no idea, sorry I'm having a bunch of dark brown spotting this month at the same time in my cycle, but we are TTC. I wouldn't worry about it too much, I guess, but if AF is late definitely take a test.
@Ali: Welcome to the charting thread!
pomelo / 5041 posts
@lawbee11: I've read that both a bit of pink or brown spotting around 9dpo could be implantation bleeding, however I had brown spotting and got AF so take it with a grain of salt; it could go either way.
honeydew / 7916 posts
@lawbee11: Did you also happen to see a dip in your chart? (Not trying to scare you there) It could be a totally normal thing as you have a secondary estrogen surge after O, which tends to lower your temps and can cause just a tiny tiny bit of spotting.
GOLD / watermelon / 14076 posts
@spaniellove: I did have a small dip in my chart. And it was a very small amount of pink spotting, and there hasn't been any since then. I googled it a little bit, and a lot of websites said that around that time there is a hormonal change that may cause some slight spotting, so I am hoping that's what it is. Thank you!
