@lawbee11: Do you have your chart available? I've been reading Taking Charge of your Fertility and she says that some people get spotting just after ovulation. So if FF was off a bit, and maybe you are only 4dpo (for example), then that could be it.

@Grace: Yes, here is a picture. I had EWCM leading up to CD 16, so I have a feeling FF is correct about the O date, but let me know what you think. (I haven't been documenting every single symptom in FF since we're not TTC yet.)

Thanks so much for the support, guys. I tried to talk to DH again about this today. When he asked why I mention his parents keeping me in the dark, I brought up that at our wedding, they made an awful comment to my dad about how excited they were to be grandparents to their daughter's children someday, which broke my dad's heart. If they thought it was their business to go around saying things like that at our wedding, then yeah they could have the decency to tell me first.

Okay I'm confused. If spotting + dip at 7dpo is a secondary surge of estrogen, how is that different from implantation? I am also confused about how i have spotting and no dip. Is spotting + dip anymore likely to indicate pregnancy than one or the other? Lawbee I'm not trying to scare you but that looks like an implantation dip to me! On the other hand, I was feeling optimistic about my spotting but there's no dip, so is that just a reality check?! Help.

@spaniellove: Ugh, I am so so sorry. Maybe I'm just lost, but isn't there a common surgery for variocele? I know a few people who've had it and heard it's super common. I'm sure I'm missing something here, though.

  6. spaniellove

    honeydew / 7916 posts

@JoJoGirl: There is a surgery, but the urologist told DH from the beginning that it would be useless for him.

@JoJoGirl: Trust me, I am just as confused as you! I think it is highly unlikely that I am pregnant because we have been using condoms religiously (no slip-ups or anything like that). I know they're not 100% effective, but I would be shocked if I were.

@spaniellove: Ugh, that is super frustrating.

@Ali: I added you too! Your chart looks great!

@JennKam: NoooOOoooOOOoo *shakes fist at sky* - sorry about AF

    @ambular: PEAK!! PEAK!!!

  11. Grace

    cantaloupe / 6730 posts

@lawbee11: I like how you call that a small dip. Teehee. I think the rest of us would be falling all over ourselves. Your chart isn't super clear with all the rises and falls (FF isn't totally sure about your O date either, that's why they have the dotted lines). It is possible that your O date is a little off and couple that with what you read on Google, it sounds like you have a promising explanation. Too be honest, I wouldn't worry about any symptom you are having. If pre-BFP symptoms actually were from being pregnant, all of us would have been knocked up 8 times over. It's probably just your body playing tricks on you.

@spaniellove: I'm sorry you are having such a rough time. Hugs.

  12. lawbee11

    GOLD / watermelon / 14076 posts

@Grace: Thank you! I'm not really worried that I am pregnant, just moreso that something is "wrong" with me because I had that spotting (and I normally don't have spotting in the middle of my luteal phase). I am also a really light sleeper and usually wake up once or twice in the middle of the night (granted, it's always just roll over and go back to sleep--I don't actually sit up or get out of bed), but that may also be affecting my temps. Charting is harder than I thought it would be!

I didn't want today to totally suck so I ordered some doggie Uggs for my dog...to go with her Bark Jacobs and Chewy Vuitton toys! Because any true Jersey dog needs her Uggs and Chewy Vuitton. I swear if this TTC thing goes on much longer we will end up with another dog!

@jojogirl: you just made my day! I actually laughed out loud, a huge "hah!!" thank you do much. Maybe we can chart one more time!?

Can I ask the monitor ladies a question? I never actually figured out how peak is supposed to correlate to ovulation. Are you supposed to get a peak the day before or the day of O? Am kind of confused because OPK is definitely + today but monitor gave me another high.

  18. singingbee

    pomelo / 5073 posts

@spaniellove: it's supposed to have an indication that your body will be ready to O in the next 24-36 hours, I think.

FWIW, the last time we used the monitor, I had 14 days of High, then found out I was pregnant. Now that pregnancy did end at 20 wks, but I did have 14 highs and still ended up pregnant.

  19. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@Spaniellove: the monitor booklet says a peak means you are about to release an egg, so it's noting the spike in LH. From there you have 24-36 hours before ovulation, although in its own drawing it says actual ovulation is on Peak day 2. However, on my chart FF usually gives me an O date of the day after my second Peak day, which makes sense as it would occur sometime that day and I wouldn't temp again until the following day.

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@Jojogirl: I know! Finally a peak. It was so weird for me to have 4 high days this cycle. Last month I only had 2. You're already 8DPO...when do you think you're going to test this time? Spotting could be implantation too. How exciting!

@ambular1025: Yes Very exciting. I'm trying to wait til Saturday.

@spaniellove: That's why we are on two dogs... I'm working on hubby for puppy#3 to keep my damn mind busy! I love that, Bark Jacobs and Chewy Vuitton. I've never heard of such a thing! I spoil the poop out my girls, it's ridiculous!

ok, so FF has given me crosshairs today (yay!) buuuut, this seems to be based more on my CM readings than temps... I had a dip, followed by 3 days of consistent temps - but none have been higher than any of my "pre-O" temps.

Maybe I'll see more of a rise over the next few days but do you think FF is telling the "truth"? I guess I have to wait about another 10 days and see if AF comes or not!

@spaniellove: @ChuckNorris: Saw a friends 12(!) Labrador puppies last night... nearly put one in my purse and snuck it home, lol!

So much exciting stuff going on in the charting world today! @ambular and @spaneillove, Ps for both of you, wahoo!!! Ali, i see a test on there Who is 'bearmama', is that you @evenstar?

  29. spaniellove

    honeydew / 7916 posts

@evenstar982: That would be like the girl on Bridesmaids! Maybe FF will make it more clear what's going on with your chart over the next few days. You might find it helpful next cycle to use OPKs if you aren't already?

@April_Showers: Looks like you should be getting CH very soon!

Finally a peak and + OPK! I'm pretty sure O is today since I always O the day my OPK is + in less than a minute, and today the test line was dark within seconds, before the control line even showed up. (I dipped another one to be sure and same thing.)

@Jojogirl: Yeah... *hides face in shame*. I'm working from home all this week because my dad is really ill and it's just too much temptation when the bathroom is right next door to my home-office!!! I knew it would be a BFN but, hopefully, I'll be able to get some work done now I've got that out of my system!!!!

  31. JoJoGirl

    cantaloupe / 6206 posts

@spaniellove: Hooray for O!!! Try to hold out some hope m'dear, okay??

@Ali: Hey, I hear you!!! My first few cycles I didn't 'get' the whole waiting to test thing, I prefered to just see the BFN so i could get on with my life. Sorry to hear about your dad!

  32. April_Showers

    cherry / 245 posts

@spaniellove: Yes, I think I should get them for the 11th. I am almost 100% positive thats when I O'd. But I am feeling really zen about this month. I don't think its our month, and I am ready for AF already. Yeah for a definately Positive OPK!

@Ali: Sorry about your dad. I was that was last month. It was easier to take a quick test to know for sure, then sit at work and wonder.

@JoJoGirl: I think bearmama is @mssally. @evenstar982 uses the same nickname on FF.

@evenstar982: I saw that and I wasn't sure that FF was telling the truth. I would wait it out though, but that wasn't a big enough jump for me to say O.

    papaya / 10570 posts

@Jojgirl @April_Showers: Thanks both. He's been ill for the last year and is now in a hospice. The last week has been bedside-vigil-time. It definitely helps to have something positive to focus on, that will last beyond this sad period in time. Focusing on new life is really healing right now. But it makes me want to pee on stuff!!! Lol.

    pear / 1974 posts

@Ali: I'm so sorry... but I can understand wanting to pee on stuff, it's good distraction! But 9DPO is too early anyway, so don't be too discouraged.

  35. spaniellove

    honeydew / 7916 posts

@Ali: Very sorry to hear about what your dad is going through, and I hope you and your family are coping okay. It sure helps a lot to have new life to think about in the midst of all that.

@JoJoGirl: Will try to be more hopeful! You've been such a huge help in getting through a yuck emotional time. Actually all of you have!

I came across this FAQ that I thought was really helpful, even after reading TCOYF and scouring FF constantly:

@spaniellove: Aw I'm glad to hear that. I'm so grateful for all of you guys too. And have resigned myself to testing tomorrow. #)$(*&@#)(*@.

Reading the FAQ now! I also discovered the TCOYF *boards* last night... holy crap did I get sucked into reading those!

@spaniellove: Thanks for the advice; I brought some OP tests on the way home today so I will definitely try them next month... kinda tempted to try one tonight/tomorrow though too as like @April_Showers says, not entirely sure FF is telling me the truth and maybe I will still O this week?!

  38. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@jojogirl: Testing tomorrow?! How exciting. Fingers crossed for you.

@spaniellove: We all go through them, trust me, so we're always hear for you..and each other.

    honeydew / 7916 posts

@JoJoGirl: Yay! 10dpo is a good time to test. FX so tight for you!

@evenstar982: I'm not so sure you had enough of a rise to warrant CH yet either...it would probably be a good idea to keep BD because you might suddenly see a real jump!

  40. JoJoGirl

    cantaloupe / 6206 posts

@ambular1025: @spaniellove: Okay I have a devil's advocate friend who is BADGERING me to test tonight! Ladies give me strength!! Her reasoning, FF is late by a day so I'm already 10dpo so why not. Gaaaaaaah.
