Wanted to see how you ladies are doing? I'm about 45min to the south east of Houston in brazoria county so it hasn't been as bad here as its been there, but I see all the news coverage everyday. I hope y'all are doing alright! Let us know.

DH and I missed the Monday flooding because we were out of town, but it's pouring again right now! I think it's hopefully not supposed to rain anymore tomorrow and Saturday. We live in an apartment too high to be flooded, but during last year's memorial day flooding we were trying to get home and kept encountering rising water. It was a bit scary. We ended up checking into a hotel at 2 a.m. to wait it out. Since then I always get nervous when it rains a lot. Water comes up so fast around here.

No flooding in our neighborhood (yet!) but we are on the north side of Addicks Resevoir and they just issued the first ever flood watch for it. We are watching water levels anxiously.
The biggest pain right now is that two major thoroughfares from the NW side to I-10 are closed and all the traffic is being routed right by our house. It will take me 30 min to come the 1.5 miles back from daycare this afternoon.

There is some flooding in neighborhoods in my community, but my neighborhood is high so no flooding here luckily.

Our car flooded but repairs will be affordable, and our home is fine. That's more than I can say for several in my area! DH's route to work is still flooded, and this rain just won't stop.

On a lighter note, this local story is my favorite and it's baby related for HB: http://www.chron.com/neighborhood/katy/news/article/Katy-midwife-rides-an-inflatable-white-swan-to-7263749.php

@rattles: I heard about that on the radio earlier. Dedication!

We are okay. My hubby was able to go to work today. I ended up canceling my appointments for the week because I didn't want to risk it.

Glad to see everybody who's checked in is doing well.

@rattles: Sorry about your car
We're doing fine. Our street flooded but that was the worst of it for us.

Glad everyone is *mostly* ok! I just got stuck in Chicago for 2 nights because I had to connect in Denver or Houston to get to Austin. Everything was canceled! Minor inconvenience though and the airline put me up...but I sure missed my kiddo.

@rattles: I'm sorry about your car! Glad it will be affordable though!
We're good. Nothing really to report here. Our yard is sloshed and likely will be for weeks but that's just a minor annoyance really.

We are OK but I was scared the other night because the two bridges to the north and south of our neighborhood were starting to flood. So far so good right now, but we'll see how it looks tomorrow, when all of today's storms have collected.
