Question for you TTC'ers. Any of you had a chemical pregnancy and find the thought of early testing off putting for future cycles? I mean I am very excited to keep trying and the tww is excruciating, but having that faint positive excitement only to have it taken away was awful.

as far as i know i have never had a chemical pregnancy, but it is for this potential reason that i try to wait as long as possible before testing. at least until my expected AF date. I also don't like the disappointment of a BFN and would rather AF be my BFN. I imagine a faint BFP only to turn into a chemical would be even worse.

I had a chemical my first cycle TTC. The second cycle I did not test early, only the day before AF. BFN, and AF arrived on time. Third cycle I had really sore boobs and some cramping so i tested at 11dpo. I didn't have any symptoms with the chemical, so I felt more hopeful. And I got a BFP! I tested everyday through AF date, then stopped. I am now almost 20weeks!

I have had one maybe two chemicals. I totally get not wanting to be disappointed, but I will still test early so that if they keep recurring I can have an action plan with my re.

I feel similarly to @raintreebee. I have had a chemical and an early MC and still test early because I always prefer more information than less. I'd rather know I had a chemical than think I just didn't get pregnant. Then we better know what we are dealing with. But everyone deals differently so I totally get not wanting to know too.

I had three. I only tested after I was late... Still found some chemicals that way.

I always said I'd wait, but I usually sneaked a test before AF was due to arrive. It's hard to recover from a cp or pregnancy loss, but once you get another BFP, it gets a little easier. Thinking of you!

Yes, this was me. Held out until 15 DPO this cycle and it was positive. My CP was the cycle before my BFP this time and now I am 7 weeks pregnant again. Scared but I do feel better every day.

I decided not to test until AF was late after my first loss. For some, they want to know just in case and I totally get that but I had pretty bad hpt anxiety after that and decided to just wait.

I wanted to know about any future chemical pregnancies so I could find out if something was wrong.

With my chemical I started testing at 9/10 dpo and got my BFP on 12dpo. I got the bfp and bleeding on 16dpo.
The next couple cycles I waited for Af and w my current pregnancy I think I tested at 11dpo after a wknd out of town.

I still tested early the cycle after my chemical. I was worried about it happening again and I guess I just wanted to find out if I implanted early, etc.

I appreciate all your feedback and heartfelt words ladies. I am wrestling with what I will do this cycle. At the very least I have decided to go ahead and temp and continue opk's. My naturally inquisitive nature will likely not allow me to wait too long.
I am curious to see what this cycle brings. As my first cycle off bcp was likely annovulatory. Then the chemical was the next cycle. Just have to see how we both feel about trying this time or just tracking for a cycle then on to the next. So many decisions. -
I quit early testing the first couple of cycles because I was scared. I early tested the month I conceived though. There was a strong feeling that I was pregnant so I took the chance and tested. It was a BFP and stayed that way.

I just had a cp and didn't really test early because we weren't trying and my cycles postpartum aren't regular. I tested bc I had symptoms. I don't really think it will deter me from testing "early" in the future though because as much as everyone says a cp is like a period and they would hve never known if they hadn't tested early that wasn't the case for me. My cp was like no period I have ever had and I wpild have known one way or the other.
