Ick I saw this last night. I often buy the Foster Farms bulk packs at Costco and didn't this week because another store had chicken for cheaper. Thank goodness!

Sooo this is of course a big bummer and as someone who formerly did these kinds of investigations at the state level, it sucks PulseNet is down and the CDC foodborne team can't follow up... hopefully they can get a skeleton team in there soon to deal with it.
However.... cook your chicken as you usually do (with same raw precautions) and you should be fine
A study came out a few years ago showing that 2/3 of ALL CHICKENS tested (big brands) have either campylobacter or salmonella... so this kind of outbreak shouldn't be as devastating as say another peanut butter or spinach one (ie foods you don't cook). -

Oh.. My. God. Just checked my chicken and it's from one of the infected batches mentioned in the article! I bought it from Costco last Wednesday.

Is it only Foster Farms chicken? I don't think I have purchased any chicken from FF before. Actually, I don't think I've purchased any chicken at all in the last couple months. Whatever chicken I do have is frozen away.
Sucks that it started in the west coast. I wonder what restaurants we eat at used that chicken.
