I hadn't thought about this but very good question. Are you thinking of the things that don't let windows go up further than a certain height?

Perhaps open your windows from the top instead of bottom... that's my plan anyways!

@cheert16: That's what we've been doing too! I don't think all windows are double hung though, so some can only open from the bottom, or slide side to side

@swurlygurl: @cheert16: good idea! I don't think ours do that, though. The top part pulls down for cleaning but doesn't slide down.

@swurlygurl: @cheert16: good idea and thanks for the suggestion. Our windows are double hung, but the way the blackout shades are hung makes it difficult to pull them down from the top.
