Like you, we want to wait until our first is out of diapers. If that happens way sooner than anticipated I'll welcome the diaper relief but that doesn't mean we'll start trying right then and there. My husband has 5 years between him and his sister and likes that gap and I have 2.5 years between mine and like that so we'll probably go somewhere in that range.

We originally wanted 3 kids all about 2 years apart. However, now that I've had to be on bedrest for what will be 6 weeks in this pregnancy, I'm not sure when we will have #2. Maybe start trying 1.5 years after #1 is born. So much to consider!

Right now, we want 3, each about 2-3 years apart. We want to start trying again once the first is 15-18 months. One huge thing to consider is childcare. Thankfully, I work at a daycare as a preschool teacher, so I get a major discount.

We're TTC #1 now, so obviously nothing is set in stone.

Originally, I wanted them to be 3 years apart. But now I'm leaning towards closer because we may have 3 kids and DH is going to be 36 soon...

We haven't made an official decision. But I would ideally like our kids to be 18-24 months apart. My husband's siblings are about 2 years apart and they are all SUPER close.
I want to wait till at least #1 is one year before TTC. I want to be able to completely devote that first year to her before thinking about other kids!

I know it'll be harder on us when they are younger. But I think the proximity in their age will help foster a closeness that will be worth it to me.

But we'll see where life takes us!

@miss-spunkin: I was so confident after having a super easy pregnancy until recently - I thought I would just pop 'em out! And, since it took us 8 months for this baby, I thought we'd start trying when baby turned 1. Now, thinking that timeline will be delayed by at least 6 months, maybe a year. I'm going to be almost 32 when this one is born, so we can't wait tooooo long....

@miss-spunkin: It's nice to have dreams of perfect pregnancies right? I actually really liked being pregnant until my scare and getting sequestered to the couch. Oh, I plan on some sort of prevention for at least a year post birth....I had a friend who had Irish Twins even though she was BF'ing!

When we got married, we wanted a big gap between our kids like 3-5 years. Well, since we are taking longer than expected to get pregnant and I'm getting older, I think I'm fine with them being 2 years apart.

We had similar plans to you. I'm at SAHM so when DS was born I knew we couldn't buy a house until I went back to work. By the time DS was a year old, DH got a promotion at work and for 6 months we lived in my parents guest house to save money. In that time DH got another promotion. We then rented a house for nearly a year until we found our house and put down 3.5% for our FHA loan. We had been ttc all last summer while searching for a house. So, DS is now almost 3 and DD is due in 7 weeks.

I'm planning on going back to school (at night) when DD is 6-9 months old and then by the time I finish DS will be in kindergarten and I'll only have to pay for daycare for DD (unless our parents retire by then).

I have a sister who is 6 years younger and one who is 12 years younger. That gap is too big! I think I'd like to space them 2-3 years apart but we'll see what happens.

2-2/12 would be ideal. They may overlap in diapers for a short period of time depending on training, but I want them to be within a couple years of school together.
