Before having LO, I thought I wanted kids about 2 years apart. That would mean getting pregnant when she's just over a year old. My brother and I are just over 4 years apart and I always wished we were closer in age. Plus I kinda want to raise kids and then be done.
Now that LO is here and 10 months old, I can't imagine getting pregnant in the next 4-6 months. I really want to cherish my time with her. Maybe getting pregnant when she's 2 and having them 3 years apart sounds like a better plan?

We were all 3 1/2 years apart, I think we were close enough to enjoy each other but far enough away to put some of that sibling rivalry issues to rest (all girls.) I think 2 1/2-3 yeras would be ideal for me. My nieces are 2 1/2 yeras apart and are so close I love watching them together.

I had decided awhile ago that it would be ideal to have our 2nd when our first was enrolled in school full-time. It wasn't ideal for me to be running after a toddler while taking care of a newborn. Kudos to all of you that are able to handle that!
After DS being born, I am definitely sticking to that plan! Motherhood has been way harder than I anticipated and I need to completely forget these days of utter exhaustion and frustration (intermingled with joy, course ) before any thoughts of TTC!!

I grew uP wanting my kids 3 years apart. When I had Lo, I wanted my kids to be closer in age. ToOk my age into consideration since I started later. Didn't think I'd have babies 21 months apart, but that's what we got so I'm excited, but scared

I am an identical twin so wanted to at least have a year apart so they wouldn't be in the same class in school.
My LOs will be almost exactly 2 1/2 years apart which I've heard from friends is nice because the first one can do some things independently (get into her own car seat, get dressed with minimal help, etc).
A lot of people I know (currently 7) are having their children really close together with the closest being my neighbor whose LO turns one in November and they are also due in November; most of others will have an 18m old when they deliver.

We actually stuck with our plan. I was ready to try for another one when my first was 9 months, but we both knew that really wouldn't work out as far as our lives and what we wanted, so we stuck with our between two and three years apart plan, and I'm so glad we did!

We always wanted our kids 2 years apart. And it pretty much worked out that way since our kids will be 2 years 3 months apart.

@pelikila: I kind of feel the same way! I think we will ultimately try for a second baby b/c we want our LO to have a sibling, but it won't be any time soon. Right now I think we might potentially start trying again when DD is 3 or 4 years old!

I wanted 2 kids (maybe 3) ans I want them 2.5-3 years apart. My husband wanted them 1.5-2 years apart and after having LO I told him there was no way I would be ready to get pregnant when LO is 1 yo. I think he is starting to agree that we may want to enjoy our time with LO and wait until she is close to potty training before we have #2

I think we were planning to have our kids somewhere in the 2-3 year apart range, but there is no planning in adoption and they are 21 months apart and it's a beautiful, busy thing!

We were planning on waiting until DD turned 3 to start trying again, but after having her, we knew we wanted them closer together. DD and DS are 21 months apart, and it's really great!

No, we always said at least 2-3 years apart. We don't really want to "get it over with" and we're both still young and in no rush.

We both wanted our LO's to be 2 years about, and my LO is also 10 months old. But we've decided to wait a little longer. Not because of LO, but because of my migraines. They're awful when I'm pregnant, and I think it would be easier to be pregnant with awful migraines if LO were a little older and able to play by herself and watch movies.

We wanted them 1.5-2 years apart & they will be about 20 months apart, so we stuck to our plan

Having siblings close together gives them a chance to be friends in a way that wider spacing may not. Regardless of what you decide, though, having more than one baby gives the siblings a chance to keep their family in their hearts, together, for life. It didn't change. We wanted our kids to be 4-5 years apart and we still want them 4-5 years apart.
