I took the plunge and bought a treadmill desk today! I'm very excited... I spend a lot of time sitting at my computer, so this will be a huge lifestyle change for me. I'm looking forward to becoming much healthier over the next few months.

My only concern is making sure that it won't endanger our kids. A treadmill is guaranteed to attract Charlie's interest, with all those lights and moving parts. Plus, Mike Tyson's four-year-old daughter died in a tragic treadmill accident involving a cord:

I will have to make sure that no cords are dangling from the treadmill, and that it's not easy to turn the machine on! I don't have a secure room where I can keep the treadmill away from the kids, so I have to make the unit itself safe. If I can't ensure that it's safe, then I'll have to return the entire unit alas.

Anyone out there have a treadmill? How did you childproof the treadmill so that cords and other safety issues didn't become an issue?
