Anyone getting one this year for LO? It will be our first time. This one looks awesome. 8 oz of chocolate total. Wrapped chocolate and scripture behind every window they open.

I buy one each if our 4 nephews each year. Their parents are ok with it since they are 3-7. Not getting LO one since she is 8 months. I am actually going to make one to use year after year and will out different treats in it.

Maybe I was a picky kid but the chocolate in these always tasted bad to me (or maybe my parents just bought cheap advent calendars!)

I loved those calendars as a kid!! I often ate my chocolate first thing in the morning. Can you tell I have a sweet tooth?

We have a wooden advent calandar where we add our own treats. Usually there are some sweets, but most days it's a little toy or raisins.

I think it will be so fun! I did this when I was really young and someone in recent years brought me one from Switzerland and it was so good. LO loves chocolate so a little bit a day will be fun.
Oh I'd love to do a homemade one some year when I'm up for it but I guess I'd have to plan way in advance. Those wooden ones are beautiful.
@Mrs. Jacks: I couldn't sleep and now I'm doing some consulting work which means my head is swirling in science curriculum in these wee hours. (After I shoprocrastinated for a bit.)

We learned last year that in the wooden ones, you have to put the treats in only.a day or so ahead. Kind of a pita!

@Mrs. Jacks: I've been up since 1am. Ugh!...I've been having a bit of insomnia off and on. Usually when I fall asleep at LO's bedtime. Still a bit of leftover sleeplessness from the loooong nursing days.
Why do you have to put them in a day in advance? 
Guess you have to set a reminder to do it everyday, huh? I would probably forget!
Haha, thanks! Shoprocrastinate is a great word on paper but never attempt to say it out loud.
