So I'm going to have a c-section, no choice in the vbac and I'm ok with it. At my appointment my doctor basically said I could choose December 27th or December 30th. That puts me at 39 weeks. I'm already measuring 2 weeks ahead of schedule, so think of how uncomfortable I will be by the end of December, so what do I choose?

DH and I are both 27th babies, so I'm sort of biased!
ETA - But a less selfish consideration is that you should also be out of the hospital to ring in the New Year at home...

I vote for the 27th so you don't have to be in the hospital on New Year's Day.

If you're measuring two weeks ahead I think the earlier the better (ETA - in terms of your comfort). Plus 12/27 is my parents' anniversary!

i voted 30th so baby can bake a little longer, and it's further away from christmas! haha

I'm not sure if you celebrate Christmas - but my sister's birthday is Dec 26th and she's always wished it were a little further away from the holiday. That would probably impact my decision.

I voted for the 30th because, as a fellow late-December mom, I want to have my LO as far from Christmas as possible -- not sure whether you have strong feelings on the matter, though.

If waiting until labor starts on it's own isn't a possible option (I know alot of erc moms that choose this so they know baby is ready & so baby/mom gets the benefits of labor hormones) I'd choose the 30th so baby has as much time as possible to cook!

Thank you for all your responses! Deep down inside I know the 30th is better, in terms of birthday parties and when this little guy is like 20. But, that's three more days of pregnancy! hahahaha.... I'll probably go with the 30th.

I voted the 30th, but should have voted the 27th. If your insurance deductible starts over with the new year then you will have to pay more if you're still in the hospital on January 1!

I'd probably choose the 27th because the earlier the better for me. I know that I'm over being pregnant and I just assume other people feel the same way lol.

Choose the 30th! You are still getting out of a week or more of pregnancy and you know your baby will be nice and baked plus you won't have to do a whole big birthday right directly after Christmas.

I say the 30th because my bday is the 29th and being close to Christmas sucks sometimes so the farther the better it gives you more time to recoup
