My six-month old, who I'm breastfeeding-on-demand and just recently started on solids, used to be a terrific sleeper (usually nursing to sleep), and rarely cried for any reason. I didn't have her on a set sleep schedule as she seemed to naturally fall into one on her own. Then for three weeks, we were taking short trips visiting with family and friends, so of course her "schedule" became non-existent.

Starting this past weekend, we decided to try the Ferber method, which is going SLOWLY (first night, cried 1.5hrs, second, third, fourth nights, for an hour, then 35 min last night - during the night, she gets up twice to feed and has been falling back asleep without much problem). The biggest issue now, though, is that during the day, I cannot put her down at all without her panicking and screaming. In fact, she now cries at the drop of a hat and wants me to hold her all the time. I am not trying to nap train at the same time but now feel she is not getting enough sleep during the day, and have tried to let her CIO but she works herself into a frenzy.

Do I need to Ferberize her during the day as well? It's easier at night when my husband is there but during the day, I can't handle the constant crying...
