I really, really hate that we are here, but girlfriend needs to sleep. We are on night four, and it is better, but not great. When did your LO start calming? Please say soon

I'm sorry. It's so hard. But I really think it depends on the kid.

I'm so sorry. I didn't want to have to do it either, but once we did things got so much better. We backslide quite a bit because I am weak and have no self control when it comes to them. But Everytime we've had to do it it's awful for a couple days and then it is so much better. I find it's easier for DH so when we were training I would go take a long shower where I couldn't hear them. They were always asleep when I got out. Also, wine. And a video monitor! You can do it mama!

@LovelyPlum: Awww. For us it got progressively better over a few days. We had to move from ferber to extinction. Good luck!

@Bao: @jhd: @T.H.O.U.: @twodoghouse: @raintreebee: thanks, ladies. She cried for 20+minutes before I broke down and went in to her. She was sobbing, and I just hate that. She's asleep now, though. I'm sure that ruined whatever good thing we had going, but I couldn't handle it tonight.

I'm so sorry. Just hang in there. It is soooooo hard to hear your LO cry. I started night training my LO five days ago and things got better after two nights, but I think that it wasn't so tough because I nap trained him at 11 weeks. (He is now 5 months). Nap training took eleven long days (some days being better than others), but I stuck to it (and cried with him). Consistency was key. I tried nap training at 9 and 10 wks, but I caved in and had to start process all over again. Don't be too hard on yourself and don't give up.

@LovelyPlum: I used to beat myself up for "giving in" after CIO attempts because I was "making her cry for no reason," so I understand how you feel, but never feel guilty for listening to your mommy instincts, whether they tell you the baby needs you, or she needs to CIO.

We are sleep training now! I do agree w pp that I think it really depends on the kid... And consistency.

@daniellemybelle: thank you so much for this. There are some nights where I feel like, nope she needs to cry, but last night was not one of them. I walked in, and she had her head buried in the side of the crib, big crocodile tears all over her face. I couldn't scoop her up fast enough. Maybe we will have to start over again, but I just couldn't do that to her last night. It felt wrong. She did sleep well, though, so maybe tonight will be better!
@Ms. Lilbunny: @tequiero21: thank you! Good luck to you both, too!

@LovelyPlum: Aww, that is so tough! We're probably going down this path at the end of Feb as well, but I'm really scared that it won't work on LO!! I keep counting on sleep training to improve things!

@LovelyPlum: was she better last night? My twins didn't do too well with sleep training. But my youngest son , it worked with only one major cry the first night. Fx that he keeps it up! Good luck! I hear most kids are done within a week, so hope it takes less than that!
