My Clarisonic Mia 2 has finally died. It lasted 3 1/2 years, which didn't seem long to me, but the warranty is only for 2 years. I'm trying to decide if I should replace it, get something different, or just use my hands (for free!) Any recommendations?
I use Cetaphil or CeraVe cleansers, and wash my face in the shower. I use a wet "makeup remover cloth" (soft washcloth) on nights when I don't shower.

I am also transitioning from my Clarisonic! I've heard a lot of good things about the Norwex cloths and I'm sort of intrigued!

Its easy, and it definitely gets my makeup off. But I'm not sure I feel the same "deep clean" like I do when I use the clarisonic. I think the last 3 years have conditioned me to expect those vibrations!

my clarisonic died after 3 years... even though it was past warranty i called and they sent me a coupon for $50 towards a new one.

I was just thinking about this as my Clarisonic is at least 4 1/2 years old. I will absolutely be buying a new one as my skin has never looked this good.

@MrsLonghorn: I just re-purchased my Mia 2 after going 2 years after my Mia died. FWIW my face is SO happy again!
I use the Mia in the shower...Cerave when I feel I need extra cleansing...and the Norwex body pac clothes all other times.
@gingerbebe: I LOVE the norwex wash clothes...plus $19 for 3 was totally worth it!

But does anyone notice if they use it 2x/day it causes breakouts? Google tells me this is common but I never feel as clean on my regular cleaning times!

@2littlepumpkins: I only use it once a day in the shower so I couldn't say for sure. I"m wondering if that's because overuse would get rid of some good natural oils?

@2littlepumpkins: My skin felt sensitive the first week I used it and I was only using once a day. The key to the breakout issue for me was to make sure I unscrewed the head and rinsed out the unit and the brush really well in the shower after each use. If I forgot or got lazy a breakout would follow.

I'm a big believer in the advice that you should be as gentle as possible with your skin in order to avoid irritation that causes breakouts. (There are studies on this). So I just lather some tea tree castille soap on my hands, lightly rub onto my face, and splash off with water. Works really well.

I wash and rinse with my regular face soap and then I use a konjac sponge. It makes my skin really soft but isn't as harsh as the clarisonic for me.
