Help! I can't seem to make sense of what to do with this stuff. If you have a dresser and a closet, how do you break it all up? I'm curious to know how you guys do it. Do you keep sets together? Break them up? Somehow I ended up with ten million onesies but really hate putting things in drawers.

We have both!
I put all her pajamas in one drawer. Another is all pants/shorts.
Onesies were folded and put in drawers.
T-shirts and dresses get hung!

We have both. Dresses, shirts, rompers, sets(I hate hate hate when sets get separated!) get hung. I fold pants and put them on a shelf in the closet. Onesies, pajamas, swim stuff all goes in drawers.

Dd has so many clothing right now they are all out folded on her dresser. I hate how messy it looks but I want her to wear them all.

I put pyjamas , onesies(long and short sleeved) & pants in the dresser. Dresses, sweaters, rompers and "outfits" go in the closet

I hang all her dresses, tutus, and whatever I consider too pretty to be folded. I fold T-shirts, leggings, jeggings, onesies, shorts, and skirts. P-Js are also folded and have a separate drawer. I also hang up everything that has been hoarded for next season or bigger sizes (the tags are still on them usually).

We have both! We have a dresser full of pants and tops and casual dresses for the summer, and then her closet has her dressier items or hang up tops and skirts. We kept her onesies out when she was smaller and we keep her jammies out in a basket on the dresser where her change pad is for easy access.

Those of you who feel strongly about sets, is your LO a girl? (just curious!) These boy sets don't seem very...matchy!

One drawer pjs, one pants, onesies/shirts, diapers, burb cloths, and one for day care clothes. Then we hang rompers, outfits, dresses, nice outfits, etc. we also have a hanging closet organizer that has A&A blankets, onesies, other blankets, etc.

I put too big stuff in the closet and keep M's current clothes in the dresser.

When she was super little I hung all her outfits as a set. What a waste of time and energy. I bought the baby hangers from Target and then bought hanger clips to attach so I could keep pants and tops together. It ended up being a waste bc I kept her in footed sleepers pretty much 24/7 for the first few months. I had daytime ones that were cotton and colorful and bedtime ones were fleece. She was born in November and it was pretty cold for several months. Even as she got older I hated outfits that were onesies and pants. As she got older I would put her in leggings and a top...some matched and some didn't. I ended up buying a lot of jeggings and neutral leggings that went with a lot of her tops
So for the first year of her life I definitely preferred the dresser. Ours has 6 drawers
Onesies - short sleeve and long sleeve. Also plain shirts for layering
Pjs and sleep sacks
Pants
Daytime sleepers and sirts
Cloth diapers and burp cloths
SheetsNow that she's older I hang all of her tops and dresses. We still use the dresser a lot though
Pjs
Socks and underwear
Plain shirts for layering
Pants
Pull ups for nap/bedtime -
Mostly dresser but we have more dresser space than closet, and her changing table is the dresser so it's more convenient. I only hang dresses and sweaters and coats.
I do keep sets (like Carter's sets) together, it's just easier, though occasionally I mix them up. And yes she's a girl.

We have both. Closet is for sleepers, Anything that zips or buttons (coats, sweaters, shirts), and stuff that is still too big. Dresser is for everything else. Our dresser is our changing table, so it was easier to have more everyday stuff right at hand while changing him.
Top drawer: diaper stuff, two piece pjs (although he didn't start wearing those til 8 months or so), socks, undershirts, burp cloths
2nd drawer: current clothes
3rd drawer: stuff that was too big, extra crib sheets, moby wrap, ring sling. -
Still using our dresser as the changing table too, so not too many extra drawers. Everything gets hung up except for 4 drawers:
1) Pajamas
2) Leggings and jeans
3) Play/Casual tops
4) Socks/tights and odd pieces -
Jammies, onesies, and pants go in the dresser. Jackets, t shirts, nice onesies/outfits hang up in the closet!

Almost everything is hung up, but now we're putting shorts and pajamas in drawers.

Onesies and pants that came with onesies are in drawers, dresses, and shirts and shirt/pant combos are hung up.

@spaniellove: I have one of each, and feel the same about both the boys and girls sets. . . I want them together. I don't even know why really. It bothers me when people who dress them separate them. . . Like I know that top belongs with different bottoms haha
The only boys sets my son has now(he's 2) are like 'workout' sets(not sure what to call them) or sets with shorts, and most of the shorts are khaki, so they seem to match fine.

We keep most things in drawers - long sleeved things in one, short sleeved in another, pants in a third, pjs and sweaters in a fourth - the only things we hang are things that wrinkle, like button-down shirts with collars. Also coats/jackets are hung.

Most things are in drawers in the dresser. I never fold anything so I just rummage through it. I do hang his nicer button down shirts and some sweatshirts. I guess I also hang his coats. Otherwise, everything has a drawer so it's not too big of a mess.
