Hi All - I'm looking into Cloth Diapering and thinking that is the way to go however I've heard that it is harder to CD a boy then girl. I'm 14 wks pg now but we are not planning on finding out the baby's gender so don't know if we should or not if there really is a difference. Anyone have any experience with CD either a girl and boy or just a boy? I'd love to hear your opinions.

There are so many gender neutral colors. Most of my stash is gender neutral, but even if we have a girl next I would use the entire stash on her (I may add some pink to the stash).

I don't have CD experience, but I wouldn't imagine that it would be any different than using a disposable diaper on a boy. Just make sure his wicky wacky is pointing the right way.

Some people have more leaks with a boy because they don't point the penis down but I cloth diaper my son and once we made sure to tuck him down, no leaks.

I cloth diaper my LO who is a girl, but the moms who have boys may put extra up front in the pocket, but that's about it. Maybe a mom of a boy will chime in.

@MsMamaBear: makes a good point about positioning the inserts if you are using a pocket diaper. If I have to fold over an insert or if it doesn't quite reach front to back I make sure to position the folded part or the insert in general toward the front where more absorbency is likely needed.

I don't think it's difficult...? If it's an insert that needs to be folded, I put the extra bulk towards the front. The only thing I can think is a little annoying is the pocket diapers that have their openings in the front (ie Charlie banana) might be better for girls than boys (but we have a couple and I don't think it's a big deal)
